Is this at all accurate or close to what it will look like? Seems a little 599 from the front...not that it's a bad thing. Always felt they should put the car on a diet - more size than weight. Haven't followed the thread tightly, sounds like the rear is still porky?
New engine - direct injection, VVC, and cylinder deactivation for 450hp and they claim near 30 mpg highway. Claimed to be 6.2 L. Smaller Michelin tires instead of Goodyears. They verify that the tail lights are square with circular subsegments, like the Camaro. No Z06 or ZR1 for at least the first year. A down-sized 5.5L model is hinted at with greater economy later on.
Looks like the Corvette and the R35 Skyline had a baby. And that version of the stingray emblem is just silly, looks like something the ferengi would use on Star Trek if they do use it in that form, instead of the ye old faithful lettering on the quarterpanels that always looked badass on it. and what's with the firebird emblem on the hood? where are the flags? Square Camaro tail lights? really? I mean talk about breaking with tradition, it looks more like a sedan than the 2 seat rocket the vette has always been. Well atleast We'll Always Have Paris, we can still go back to the C2's and C3's anytime and atleast the new motors can probably be transplanted into the old ones to give them more power with better gas mileage in due time when it hits which is always a plus.
I think we should wait until the actul reveal and see how everything is put together. I agree with a lot of your comments, but I have a feeling they will get it right on the actual car in person.
Don't age us Paul, my 10 year old just learned to play Smoke on the Water on her Guitar and she calls it Classic Music (as in Mozart). LOL
Possibly the greatest guitar riff of all time, that and "Whole Lotta Love" IMHO. Back on topic, I hope that the car on this month's car n driver is not the new vette. Too much "surface entertainment" me thinks.
When the actual car comes out, I have a feeling it will look stunning compared to the C&D Cover. Although with the new Malibu, and having to get a facelift after only 18 months, it tells you something about Akerson.
The height of the front bumper on this rendering is much more pleasing that the C&D version C7 front view. CH Image Unavailable, Please Login
