What if the whole panel were Perspex a la F 40? Then the vents would still remain but be in perspex and show more of the engine compartment. I would eliminated the carbon fiber strap under the glass which bears the Ferrari name and instead place it back on top of the cover panel
Well done, Antonio! Looks much better in these actual photos than the initial flyer that started this thread.
Antonio, I think it looks fantastic. Could you please post a picture of the car with the top up. I'd like to see what the glass section looks like with the top up. Thanks, Rod
Antonio NE voglio uno per mostrare negli stati uniti e si vendono se le persone possono vedere di persona Jeff
I didn't think you can actually see a little bit of the intake manifold, this is much cooler looking then I imagined. Good job! The clear window over the engine theme was actually started a very long time ago, as seen on the 1961 FERRARI 250GT SWB BERLINETTA `THE BREADVAN. It wasn't just started with the 360 Modena. Antonio : Thnaks for sharing this with us. Just like need4speed, I think it looks much better on these new photos than on the initial flyer. Not sure though if I would go for it on my spyder, we'll see. Please send us all details about this mod when available!
While I didn't see the point of this piece in the initial photos, I must say that the latest photos indicate a well thought-out project to further personalize the 458 Spider. Naturally, aesthetic taste and total installed price will determine how many are sold. I have to say that, purely from an appearance standpoint, I've changed my opinion. The logistics of top storage dictate how much of the engine may be seen, and with these constraints in mind, I tip my hat to the creative team at Capristo. Fred
I have to say, whilst I would not fit it on my Spider, and after not being impressed in the beginning, I totally agree with this post.
Hello everyone, I would like to thank everyone. We are happy to hear that you like the pictures from the original car better than the drawings. I think that the original product always seems better than simple drawings. But I'm specially happy that even those who were sceptic at the beginning, now also find the product good. I find it is very important that you always give an honest opinion. And irregardless, if it is positive or negative. Specially the negative opinions are important because they bring us to always improve the product. But I think that as things went, it was a nice development because this way you could observe how an idea became reality. I have to agree with the people who were sceptic at the beginning. The engine can not be seen. Below, there are only plastic parts. So what does the glass pane bring? When you see a glass pane, you always incline towards looking through it. And behind this glass pane, you expect to see something worth seeing. Even if it was clear from us from the beginning that the engine would not be visible, it was a challenge for us, to make the back of the glass pane look technical. This we could only do by replacing plastic parts with carbon parts. This way, we were successful to make the back of the glass pane look attractive. But I must mention, that our goal was to change the outer design of the hood. I find that when you look through the glass pane, it does look attractive. You see carbon parts and a small part from the intake manifold. I personally, find this very good that you can see so little from the engine because this encourages our fantasies. You do not need to see the entire engine in order to find the inner compartment of the engine attractive. A woman can also be very sexy when she shows very little. She must not be naked in order to be attractive. I hope you understand what I mean. I hope it was fun for everyone to observe how this project was created. And again, thank you to everyone who observe and participated in the discussion. Kind regards, Antonio
Antonio it is seriously amazing. Looks great. I have a feeling Capristo is going to be selling a bunch of them.
I've also changed my mind, in these last pictures it looks very nice. I still don't think I'd want one for myself as I don't feel the need of seeing the engine or carbon underneath the lid, but surely would not consider it a disadvantage when, say, looking for a used spider.
Seems an odd place to put sat radio/nav box, right above hot engine, is that really what it is? Can't see any wires?
WE will have a 458 spider soon in our shop for this installation .Hope fully its a different color car so that we don't repeat pictures . This will be around February as soon as we get it sent from Antonio
Like this one? I didn't do any actual research on finding the earliest example, I just came across that 61' "Breadvan" and decided to mention it One thing I wonder is if those clear covers are factory job on those vintage models. The "Breadvan" for example was heavily modified privately. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I understand exactly what you mean and I 100% agreed. But if I have a choice, I still prefer it naked.
