Wayne, you are going up in my estimation with every post.. Magnificent collection of 400's and now a Miura!! A man after my own heart!! John PS: Strictly man love.. Which Miura do you have? I had the opportunity to sit in the bottle green S in the early 80's but the owner wouldn't consent to a drive..
Moretti, Yes, the Dino (scrape underside) & Bora (scrape sills) both suffered in Targa - lesson here is don't use a standard car. E Type had issues too even with much uprated springs/ shocks till we welded skid plates on the exhaust. Only the vintage Dodge has no issues. You should see what is done to some of the other cars - even very stiffly sprung. I have only seen 160MPH and my passenger was reading the newspaper! No sign of floating, very stable. Simon, Thanks - will check Islerodreaming, 1970 S, series 2 with ventilated brakes originally. Aircon, Its now maroon/ silver, will be in the next Miura book (Sonnery/ Kidson). Yes and Aussie delivered for whom it makes a difference.
Owning a Miura in Tasmania deserves a bravery award I reckon. Is there a mechanic with Miura experience down there?
There is now! Best thing is you don't need a computer program to work on them - but they don't need much anyway, just the usual stuff. Hate to bend it though.
I am told there are lots of tricks and idiosyncracies; but once they are set up right they are pretty good. There are some interesting cars hiding away in Tassie, back in the early 1980's I used to see a 365 BB and a 246 Dino getting around Hobart when I walked to Uni.
http://www.pickles.com.au/cars/item/-/details/CP-04-97--Built-01-95--Lamborghini--Diablo--VT-AWD--Coupe--2-Seats--2-Doors/103238595 Interesting buy. Also interesting is the Sydney Lamborghini dealership has gone into receivership! http://www.smh.com.au/business/tinkler-a-right-wally-when-it-comes-to-lying-low-20121205-2avmi.html#ixzz2EFYcRUgK
Someone already posted about the Dealer going into receivership, it happened during the Sydney Motorshow and they made a deal not to pull the cars till the show was over.
$400K for a near-new Gallardo - cheap buy? http://theage.drive.com.au/motor-news/auctioned-lamborghini-goes-cheap-20121211-2b7jl.html
Spotted for sale locally.. wonder who would buy it? Surely not a serious farmer always with eye on running costs.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Nice spotting One of my relatives in Italy owns one but I kept forgetting to take the camera to his place!! D'oh. Did you spot the price tag? (just out of interest)
One of my mates has a Lambo tractor on his vineyard. I think he mentioned it breaks down as often as the cars.
$35K and it's all yours! http://agriquip.com.au/prestashop/14-farm-machinery-sales (search for "Lamborghini") AWD to handle all of 110HP too Sounds cool to say.. but a painful ownership experience!
