I thought all scuds come with LED rev counters on the steering wheel.

Looks fishy. The ebayer has over 200 positive, but only 5 for selling.

Sold Air Jordans, concert ticket, Solstice hard top, nav system, and a 30K Escalade. Now, he has a Scuderia and a Gran Turismo for sale.

So far as I know, that is standard. So the steering wheel was replaced or the original buyer down-spec'ed, which would have been a special order. Very odd.

That's what I was thinking. Never seen one without the LEDs. I'd like to know just for curiosity's sake. Rest of the car looks pretty good.

I call S C A M! Way underpriced, and steering wheel makes no sense at all.

According to the '09 window sticker, the LED steering wheel is standard.

Yup, I think I would be a little worried going into this transaction. It just doesn't pass the all-important "smell test"...something's rotten  Just did a VIN search: Comes back with 0, zip, nada on google. It is an '09, probably March '09.

That steering wheel is screaming out "BUYER BEWARE." Curious and curiouser

I wonder if any F-Chatters know the car/owner?

Very weird that there are no LEDs on the steering wheel...

Anyone run a carfax on it? Smells fishy.

The Autocheck on the ebay ad is a PAY only...most of them are pre-paid by the listing seller...hummmmm. For a car this price, you would think that would have been done. There just seems to be too much weird juju going on. Certainly not the "norm."

Not sure about the US, but in Europe the LED wheel was optional.

The spec sheet option of the 430 Scud for the rest of the world had the steering wheel with LEDS as an option.(approx US$3000). I don't know the situation in the US. There are some Scuds around the world without steering wheel LEDS but most were specked with LEDS.

This isn't a scam. I know this car decently well. It went through auction about 6 months ago. I almost bid on it until I realized the problems it had. I am not speaking heresay either. I spoke directly with the selling dealer (an official Ferrari dealership in Florida) when it went to auction. It has been in an accident and the fender was repaired and repainted. The non-LED steering wheel was also a big turn-off/will be impossible to sell.

This is the third scud I have seen with a non-LED steering wheel. There was one at F of Atlanta recently and another from a private seller in NY. The original owner must have custom optioned to NOT have the LED's. What the heck were they thinking?!

As to the low price, this is exactly the kind of car that goes through auction (ie. one with history and/or accident). So when someone does a general search of all auction sales and quotes manheim prices, they don't/can't see the problems a car has had. Some of us on fchat like to quote auction/wholesale prices as the 'market price', but this is a prime example on why those numbers can't be trusted or are artificially low because if a car is pristine enough to be sold at retail, there is no reason to send it to auction. Authorized Ferrari dealerships do this all the time when a car doesn't pass muster to be in their showrooms like this one.

Take home message: Auction prices ARE NOT wholesale or market prices for Ferrari's.

As far as the non l.e.d. steering wheel(s) go, I would bet that they are all coming spec'd with them, only that the owner(s) wanted something different/more to their personal liking by having an aftermarket (MA carbon) one made. Which could explain why there has been Ferrari l.e.d. steering wheels available for sale and passed around to non Scud owners in the past....

Adding LED wheel is no real problem, come up fairly regularly used - had one on my 430 coupe which sold on ebay for £1400.

The L.E.D. wheel may have been damaged in the accident mentioned by Steve and replaced on the quick and cheap with anything close by and readily available.
BTW, Steve, how many Scuds did you look at in your Scud buying quest? You seem to know every Scud out there, both far and wide.
