You must be bigger/taller than me (180 6'1"). I found it roomy with plenty of head room for a helmet and great visibility especially of the front corners. The apexes will be very easy to see.

Not at all, I'm only 5'8, everything is just very tightly packaged and the passenger sits rather close in relative terms. I have no problem with smaller cars, in fact I prefer them. However I think some people will find it smaller compared to the interior of the 'F150'.

A lot of us seem to only regard the P1 and F150. In all honesty (if you remove the ferrari factor) I think the 918 is the best looking out of all 3, and seems it would be more usable, and have more different personalities than the F150 and P1.
Personally, I'm actually more interested in the 918, I could really care less about the weight if it has no negative effects on the dynamics, and I believe porsche has the intelligence and engineering/technical capability to deliver, (I won't be lifting the car to carry it on my head and walk around).
The design of the 918 IMHO will age very very well. I'm seriously considering one, and if i get it i will keep it a life time.
I'm also not interested in being the fastest in a straight line, around corners or have the most HP. I think those things won't mean too much in the near future. I care about other technologic advancements and more importantly 'FEEL'
Anyone with more info on the 918 pls share.

A lot of people (and potential buyers) share your opinion. I am aware that fuel consumption is not most important fact when buying 1M Euro car, but still, fuel consumption in 918 will be insanely low, so as emissions.

I hear about an Audi Supercar using diesel technology gained from their LeMans experience. We know that can be fuel efficient (even more coupled with electric motors) and produce huge amounts of torque. VW group looks to 'tackle' the hypercar market?

The 918 is very beautifull indeed. However, I still think it's too heavy to stand a chance against the F70 and/or the P1.
As 4 fuel consumption, I doubt that a person who pays a million $ on a supercar will give a rat's ass about it.
Personally , I couldn't care less about fuel consumption. If you're rich enough to buy one of these beauties, u can also afford to put gas in it.

I am not talking about fuel consumption from money point of view. Its more about facts like: you dont need to stop on every single gas pump to fill your beast, you can spent more time on track, also you can compete against other cars with half-full tank...

It's not about the affordability of fuel.
What will be the future of super cars with all the emission control and regulations???
supercars of yesterday will not be the same of the future (accept it or not)

Porsche is providing an option titled (The Weissach Package) for the 918. The 918 in "Weissach" trim will be approximately 75 - 100 lbs lighter. The weight reduction is accomplished via component deletions, such as AC compressor, no paint substituted with a vinyl wrap, lighter magnesium wheels, lighter interior materials, etc.

Porsche is expected to produce a derivative of the 918 without all the "green' titled 961. This car is expected to be very light and should be something to see..

If I have right information 961 should be 458 Italia direct competitor.

I also agree with your comments regarding Porsche. When they release 918 it will be well built and durable. They are doing a lot of testing with their prototypes, both on road and track.

Until we see the final specifications for both P1 & F70, it remains pure speculation and hype to their performance attributes.

That is their target market from everything I have read. 458 / MP4-12C competitors.

Let's hope they can compete in the same price range as those two. A cheap slim down version of 918 under 325K. ?????

By the time it comes out it will be a 458 M (or whatever they call the 458 faclift/upgrade) replacment..

If I remember the game plat the 458 is schedulad to have a life cycle of 4 years, with an upgreaded version replacing it for another 4 when we'll see a reall replacement... something along the lines of 360->430

The Porsche 918 is certainly coming together nicely.
Carbon fiber engine cradle and F1 top lid exhaust are nice features which reflect the over engineered approach to the design.

The under $900, 000 price makes the Porsche the least expensive of the current generation super cars.

Heck if you buy a 918 over the Ferrari or McLaren or Pagani, you can use the savings to splurge on spending a week at Nikki beach in St. Tropez with a leggy companion!

It's also very impressive how many mules they're testing to get it right.
