a few people in 360/430 section did something similar to their cars looks good on the photos and has virtually no impact on the battery
The things you find when trawling(trolling) through Gumtree. Maserati Mistral 4lt LHD in Canberra, one for Mike? Needs a COMPLETE resto, though. ..don't say the bleeding obvious thanx PP..
and link is here http://www.gumtree.com.au/s-ad/garran/cars-vans-utes/1967-maserati-mistral-coupe/1010517727 and trolling and trawling are 2 different things Image Unavailable, Please Login
Back firing? What could cause the filters to burn, and why wouldn't it just suck the fire into the inlets and burn out pretty quickly.? Bit intrigued
Might have a look at that, could be a good weekend project as I have plenty of spare time and not enough cars. I'll take a tape measure to see if and LS3 would fit. Any idea of value ? M
The vendor would just about want to pay you to take it away! There are a couple more for sale ATW:restored in Italy @77000euros,another resto,LHD in the 'states.complete $47000 and a rolling shell in Holland for 13000 euro's. If the restored car is,at best, worth $100-120K around the world and you're going to spend close to $100K to restore('cos they're pretty rare),you'd want to get it for about $10K Aussie.
You might be a bit light on the resto cost there - an aquaintance has 150K in a 3500 and he's not done yet! If the body has been sandblasted, and it looks as if it might have - it might be too late. There was a shocker LHD at a Bonhams auction a few years ago....a real challenge, like this one. That's the problem with cars like these, and Lancias & Alfas, is the resto costs far exceed the value of the car. Better to buy a good one unless you want a project.
Yeah,I was just trying to cushion the blow for Mike! Mind you,he,I will admit,is a fairly dabhand at doing his own work.
Yep, unless you can do most of the work yourself this sort of resto doesn't make sense dollarwise. The problem is that the costs have increased a lot in the last 10 years, but the value of the finished product has been static. On my Lancias I farm out the paint & trim , but do most of the rest myself. I have a friend who has a 30K Lancia that owes him 85K! Good thing he loves it....
Anyone have knowledge of these? Good thing or not? http://www.carpoint.com.au/all-cars/private/details.aspx?R=SSE-AD-983343&Cr=1
Yep,wow(a bit),were'nt brought into the country. Looks like it has some type of aftermarket kit on it/they DID have some glass on them, just a bit different. Goes like the proverbial... Mind you,for the same dosh,at CTS,there is a rather pricey Peugeot 205GTi,I think they were a better and prettier car .
Hilarious, highly recommended. But, not to be confused with the homologation special mid engined rally car. There were several variants, performance varying from "good in the day" to "lethal". There were a million tweaks and tuning parts available, so I reckon it would be hard to find an original example - they went through the cheap thrills, boy racer stage too. Guy I worked with (in the UK) had one tweaked to about 150 hp - bombing along at 100mph between the hedges was frightening - ah, the things we do when young, stupid and slightly Mozart...turbo R5s have a very strong following in the UK and France. R5s are great cars and well ahead of their time.
Made me look at this. $20k overpriced, but looks HOT!! http://www.carsales.com.au/private/details/lotus-elise-2010-13961505?base=1216&vertical=Car&cr=13&eapi=2&__N=1216%201246%201252%201247%201282%204294965279%204294965277&num=15&silo=Stock&sort=%7ePrice
