G, yes that really is a cool car.

It is quite interesting how Ferrari has changed their aerodynamics on their most recent GT models from the 599 Flying Buttresses to the F12 airbridge. Not sure of the real aerodynamic advantages of these changes, other then the aerodynamacists having pure fun at the wind-tunnel in Maranello. Ferrari's aerodynamics have not been up to par for their F1 cars as of late (ie. since Adrian Newey left), but I'm pretty sure any changes the aerodynamicists make do not make too much of a difference for most of us on the street.

Nonetheless, I really like the F12...Really, I do.

Newey was never at Ferrari - infact Rory Byrne @ Scuderia was his #1 rival.

Newey was part of the F430 Le Mans 07 win tho.

    >> F12 - cool pics !

Albert, Adrian Newey never designed for Ferrari, I think you may be thinking of Rory Bryne who designed for the Scuderia in the Schumacher golden era, including designing the fastest F1 cars ever the F2003-GA and F2004. The F12 is beyond impressive there are all kinds of very interesting things and tricks Ferrari used and none is more impressive than the engine itself. For instance the compression ratio at 13.5:1 is higher than the 1992 Ferrari F1 car (92A) it produces more torque per liter than any naturally aspirated gas engine over 4 liters in a road car, all while having a virtually flat torque curve with 80% of the torque available from 2500rpm. It's the same block and displacement as the FXX and it produces more power than a standard 599xx, that's ridiculous for a road car.

I stand corrected. Maybe it is just wishful thinking for me and my wishes for the Scuderia. Waiting for the days of a Scuderia dream team of Vettel, Alonso, Brawn, and Newey to make a team and car to dominate for the ages. However, Domination in F1 is probably not the best thing for the sport, as parity makes for a more exciting season.

Anyway, the F12 is as beautiful and elegant in design as I could expect from Pininfarina. I can't wait to see one in the flesh out on the road. hint hint FOG drive, G!

THAT, is amazing. It is said that nothing beats an electric motor for instantaneous response and a flat torque curve, but the F12 engine sure comes close, as well as being better in nearly every other objective and subjective way (except local exhaust emissions).
