I heard Hartford Co and whatever county Hampstead is in also didn't receive much, if any, treatment. LS
We ran a few wrecks out your way on the Toll Road Wednesday night. No snow, but below 32degrees and wet means they need to salt the roads. Stinks for the collector cars, but safety first.
Haha...my knowledge of MD stops at Exit 33 on I-95. Beyond that, I'll have to consult my 4th grade geography notes...which I still have somewhere. LS
How much rain did we get around the region??? Any chance the salt was washed away? Penn Quarter DC got a good soak, but not the much needed downpour. How about Buh-Lair, MD?
I'll keep an eye out in the Blair/balto county area. I hope it's clear because I enjoyed our run last week!
Serious downpour in downtown DC and Southern Montgomery County overnight. Roads look fantastic! How about in the burbs? LS
Montgomery County looks fine now. Wet streets this morning, but driving weather now. No salt or sign of wet weather in next 5 day forecast.
Any updates? Southern MontogmeryCounty got a little snow today but it has since switched to rain. No salt yet here though. I will checkout NW DC later today. How is the beltway? And surrounding suburbs?? LS
Monsoon washed away everything in Southern Mont County and the topside of the beltway looked good last night. Penn Quarter in DC looks spotless as well. LS
I'm pretty sure they salted Loudoun County area by Ashburn/Sterling due to the white residue on roads when snow/slush dried up today
They did, and we are supposed to get some more snow (1-2") this Saturday . My baby is parked for awhile.................
Everything inside the Baltimore Beltway was salted and not entirely washed off by the rain. Clean truck has white whiskers from the (dry) drive in today. Need a good rain.
damn that sucks I wanna drive too. The only way is to drive, then make sure u spray wash the bottom and wheel wells....
My buddy who just got his 2013 458 is still driving it despite the salt and snow lol He pulled it out of the garage in 1 inch of snow and off he went.
Was out for a drive today in Howard/Carroll county and northern Montgomery. Pretty much everything south of 70 and east of 94 was OK. We encountered salt if we went further north or west. I some areas, it looked like they had salted dry roads. I had never seen that before.
Thats brave! Though, I cant imagine just getting a new 458 and NOT driving it, that would be criminal
Big stretches of 198 near the Donut with salt on the shoulders...looks like spotty patches from Burtonsville north towards Columbia? Hoping for another good rain before the driving season is back on with the warm temps coming! LS
Hope for a lot of rain Friday to clean things up. Weekend looks like it may pan out for a drive. Fingers crossed!
I haven't seen any salt trucks out on the surface streets in the Tysons area. Have they been out in your area?
Yes, out west of Tysons toward Leesburg we have those brine stripes on most of the major roads. Those stripes kick up less salt than the salt/sand mix they use, but it still coats the bottom of your car with a light dusting of salt. The brine stripes will be worn off in a couple of days - even faster if it rains. .
