To all my dear friends, Thank you for such a beautiful, light filled year. Happy Holidays to all of you and your families. kourosh
Well, we survived the Mayan Apocalypse, the FOG version of the same, and get to celebrate ... this day, Christmas Day 2012. No matter what your faith, I hope you will take time today to slow down a little, breathe, and be with your families and loved ones. Happy Holidays to my FOG brothers and sisters! Well, it's not a dealer demo car as it's a euro spec car. I wonder if it's the German owned F12 flown in for the owner, or if it's just a 'static' display. I need to go check it out.
Making the rounds, no? Looks like the one at SD and BH last week... Working the way up the coast... SV
You never cease to impress! How can you tell it's an EU spec car? You are correct that it's not a dealer demo in the sense of being able to drive it. Just for looking at, and only there for a few more days before moving on to another dealer. I did get to sit in it. It doesn't feel as immense as the 599. The door belt line is a bit higher than on the California, so you feel somewhat "enclosed," but the driving position is better. On the California, I feel like I have to sit a bit lower in the car than ideal (if I sit up higher, my head gets too close to the roof; obviously not a problem with the roof down). In the F12, you sit "up" more so as to see the road better and not feel you have to peer over the steering wheel or what seems like a very long hood in the 599. The F12 cockpit is simply a very nice place to be. The F12 is available with a front and rear lifter system, unlike the 458's which is just for the front. Ferrari has evidently listened to the complaints of 458 owners who clear the front only to scrape the rear; either that, or to compare better with Lambo's lifter system. I can't tell whether the overhangs are great enough or the car low enough to really need it, however. But the car sits better than the California with there being less a gap between the tops of the tires and the fender arch. Here are a few more pics. The dash and steering wheel are very "458". This particular example has CF panels in the engine compartment, on the dash and on the flying console. It also has the "privacy" rear glass option. I can tell that it's a Euro spec car because it does not have the US mandated side markers both fore and aft. Hopefully it will be at FoSV soon, I was unable to get there today. I wonder if anyone knows when the car is moving on? Unfortunately I was unable to see it at Pebble so this will be my first time seeing the car in the aluminum. I'm excited.
You must be mind melding with Tool-Fan! How can you tell? I understand the lack of side markers giving away it being an EU car. But to identify it as "the" one from Pebble? Amazing! I think the car moves on come Thursday, but I don't know where to.
I went over to look at it this morning and was told that it is the same car used at the Pebble unveiling -- which was a pretty cool event itself. Great espresso! And they had the atelier built on site with all of the unusual fabrics, etc. Thats when I learned (for all you nautical folks) that one can get the rear deck done in teak wood. Looks like the deck of a boat. A nice boat.
Ah, so they told you it was the same car! I was thinking you had ESP like Tool-Fan. So after the atelier visit, did you order one?
