Would like to visit during peak season as well. I wonder how much does it cost to stay near to the track. I noticed there's available 'motel/hotel' where you can have the best birdeye view. Like 2-3 storey high.
Hotels during the race week charge stupid prices. I was invited the last time so did not know how much the hotel cost but i would guess at least Euro 600++ upwards(4 stars upwards). If you are looking at a room with a view to the track, forget it. I was in McLaren's paddock club and it was actually a penthouse apartment facing the "swimming pool" and the up hill straight. Many owners of apartments facing the track leave monaco and lease out their apartments for a fortune.

Had a night at the Hermitage just one weekend before F1 & it was Euro800, bay view & small section of track. It's impossible to find a room during peak season. The best, Casino hotel which is in front of where i stayed is no less than a thousand Euro. If not, just find a decent hotel in the next town which is just 15mins drive away. Oh parking is also tough there. Best to fly into Nice then get a cab or metro to get to Monaco & walk. It's very small.
