Interesting that De Luca is involved in the project. He held the Lead Aerodynamicist position for the F1 team on a temporary basis as they searched for someone to replace Iley. This was in 2010 IIRC. He was head of all F1 WT operations for years before that so someone very handy to have on the team.
If they moulded the exhaust into them triangle sections it would look much cleaner, but I suppose it has its reasons for that design
The inspirational link I was talking about was the Babe in the Butt Floss Thong that he linked to but P 4/5's exhausts are functional and increase aerodynamic efficiency and the downforce able to be generated by the movable rear spoiler. Those were the first ones which I wasn't happy with and we modified them. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Yes I see now, I suppose the exhausts direct the right flow of air/gasses onto the rear spoiler to help it generate the downforce, and the tips are far better designed than the truck style circle ones, the first design reminds me of drain pipes on houses
The patent sits next to a similar one concerned with an innovative way of activating the wing at speed. Every hint points to DRS.
Has there been any road car that generates enough downforce that it could theoretically drive upside down?
And the radical sr8 lm which holds the production record at the nurburgring and which is almost a tenth of the p1's price and almost better looking and more desirable.
Just to be clear it was posted by someone named Yat Jayi, not by Pininfarina themselves. I worried: https://sphotos-b.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-snc6/243261_3608346258777_20905109_o.jpg >8^) ER
Tnx, guess we'll have to be happy with the rather weird pistonhead interpretation for the year. Image Unavailable, Please Login
P 45 C generates 2800lb at about 125mph and pulls 2.8G's in turns but I'm not sure you'd want to drive daily on the Cross Bronx Expressway with it's race suspension settings.
