Well not exactly, the owner kept it in a crowded hanger in Los Angeles. The new owner from New York (Rob S.) Had me pick it up for a cosmetic refurbishment. Steve K. will be doing the surfacing and the owner is changing the color to Blue Dino Metallizatto with tan interior. I picked it up on Wednesday and I was suppose to leave for Austin on Thursday to spend Christmas. My flight was cancelled so I headed up to my shop to get started with the dismantling process. Next non stop flight wasn't till Saturday so I got 2 days of work till the new year. Power washed everything to get the first layer of grime and it will be and engine out so the engine bay and engine can be cleaned and painted. It is amazing what slop work people do! Every screw and bolt was wrong and mixed with standard, metric etc and if wrong size they just forced it!. The door panels were cardboard with not one clip in them. They used all self tapping screws. How to people get away with this and actually get paid. I expect to have the car to Steve in 2 weeks and while there I'll work on everything that needs refurbished, get the interior made, parts rechromed and lots of parts ordered. Should be stunning in it's new livery. This started with just a hobby as i totally restored my 2 Dino's. I have 5 I'm working on now, with Steve K. doing all the surfacing.

I'm a little confused. The rear license plate mounting hole spacing looks like Euro plate spacing (square) rather than US plate spacing (rectangular), yet this clearly appears to be a US model.

The original color revealed itself today as I dug into the door and removed some Dino Vinyl Pieces. It is a Dark Blue Metallic. I also found a remnant of the original carpeting which was rust colored. I'm sure Mathias can give us the original specs. The new owner had no idea it was originally blue and this was a color in his consideration. Maybe another Dino going back to original. I like this trend!

This job will be one more very nice color combination. I will say that it is very ironic that the owner bought this Dino not knowing the original color and yet he told you that he would like to go with a blue. I like the trend!

John, my first Dino, 04808, is Blu Sera. This car may have also been painted Blu Sera. Matthias told me that only 58 Dinos were originally painted that color. Fred

    Jon,

Was the carpet remnant the same colour as in Jim M's GTS? This interior would look great against the Blu Sera IMHO. I don't know if Jim's car had the Marrone 633 Skai vinyl interior or if it was the Tabacco Vaumol 846 Connolly leather.

Matthias confirmed it was Blue Dino Metallizzato. I'll post a picture of the carpet when I get home from the holidays, but it does look to be the color in your photo.

the photo above looks similar to the carpet in my daytona which was blue dino met with rust carpet. the carpet originally had matching binding as seen on the carpet behind the seats. the binding on the carpet overlays is too light.

Is that an original C&F GT car, not all the cars with flared arches are original?

That interior & colour combo looks just like my car! Is it yours? nobody really knows how many UK GT cars are in existance so am intrigued to see another one

Interesting that he states only 5 Gt cars in the UK no wonder i have never seen another one. Do you know what it sold for, mine is pretty much identical to that one but has the nudge bar but no tool kit?

I can't recall the exact selling price but it was high due to the condition. I seem to recall a figure of £180k but I could be wrong.

Those are some very nice interior color combinations.

Dino Blue Metallizzato is worth it even if the original color just so happened to be silver....look forward to seeing after completion...awesome car

After finding more evidence of the color, I would definitely say it was Blue Serra originally.
Matthias says the records from Ferrari show Dino Blue Metallizzato and that he has found only a very small percentage of error. So as of now, I don't know. Further research will be required. It has 3 paints jobs on it. The original and has been painted silver twice.
