    I want to put a kitchen TV in my parent's home, and there is no outlet close. I could have a cabled pulled from the living room (they are fine if this TV is a "slave" meaning it has to be tuned to the same channel as the living room TV) but it would be somewhat of a challenge, and then the TV placement is either fixed, or you have to have a cable running "in the open" on the counter.

    Wireless HDMI solutions have come down in price (<$200)--by reports, fidelity is great (not that it matters much on a 22" TV) and the only issue is a very slight delay. Anybody tried this?

    I've tried those and other options. My feeling is that the lower price ones aren't worth it. In fact, a true solution would be very expensive. I would get them a Roku box and stream content through that. Just my opinion.

    Why? The only content they are interested on is broadcast TV (football games, etc.). Will something like Roku or Sling do that?

    For exact same reasons & scenario, I put an unobtrusive Hi-Def antenna on my Folks Kitchen TV & it far exceeded expectations.

    I went with Vizio's wireless HDMI and I love it. Just a bit of delay when changing channels but otherwise it works great.

    Get them an ipad with the brookstone stand/loud speaker. Our cable co gives free tv every single channel on app. Only 15 sec a Delay. HD too. We have cablevision. My mom has bright house in fl and hers works great too and no wires.

    broadcast TV is amazingly high quality (picture-wise). That was my only source for TV for the last 5 years or so.

    Yup - NO compression - technically a superior pic to comcast/fios/etc. You just miss all the good programming like Honey Boo Boo (I am kidding... :eek: )

    *Very* interesting!....Are you sure?

    I have the Directv equivalent and it certainly doesn't make all channels available. Some live sport, but not all. For example, right now, the Daytona 24 is on, but last night I couldn't get the Aussie tennis.... Makes no sense to me!

    Further, I can see (but not view) everything that's been recorded on the DVR's, which kinda sucks.

    I have no idea *how* they decide what to allow on the iPad (etc), but the restrictions seem very arbitrary to me.

    I have a 2.4ghz transmitter and receiver between my satellite box in the bedroom and tv n the dining room, as I figure I would not ordinarily expect the TV in both to be watched at the same time, and works great except when the microwave goes on in the kitchen! Cost £30 for the set, and five mins to set up, RadioShack!

    Set up an IOGEAR wireless 3D HD HDMI kit. Works flawlessly. Range is not huge, but I have it going about 20 feet through 2 walls. Quality excellent. This kit also includes a wireless transmission back of IR signals, so you can control the primary source at the secondary TV.

    Very sweet.
