One of my new years resolutions is to rededicate more time to my car hobby -- and, what better way to begin 2013 than to kick start the NY Tri-State Spotters Thread?

Looking forward to an excellent year with a ton of likeminded car fanatics!

Lots of work going on at Lamborghini of LI. The white and copper Aventadors are still there, though (I have no use for the black one that was there a couple of weeks ago . . .)

Considering all goes as planned with a nearby garage, I'm hoping that there'll be many-a-360 Spider sightings in and around NYC very soon.

Black 550 on Henry Hudson Pkwy earlier today. Later saw an early, rough, 912 with a big roof rack.

Spotted a pair of Japanese exotics in Paramus today: red GTR and blue NSX ; also a white Corvette Grand Sport, so there's a red, white and blue trio. :)

I'm not sure I'd call Japanese cars exotics. :) nice spot on the Vette.

I wouldn't consider Japanese exotics either, but it's been a while since I've seen anything remotely exotic. :)

:) Unless vintage, I don't consider maserati's exotic either but they seem to get posted in these threads....also a car at a dealer shouldn't "count" as a spotted car vs one driving on the street but they get posted here often. Oh well, it's all in fun- given some of the things posted sometimes I post cars that are more impressive to me than say a maserati, like last year (2012) when I saw a vintage 600SEL 6.3 in Manhatten- that turned my head!

OK, I'll admit the Maserati Quattroporte with what must have been a Tubi exhaust driving on Broadway a couple of days ago turned my head and was enjoyable to hear as the driver deliberately revved it up- the sound off the NYC buildings was music! I guess I'm guilty as charged of breaking my own "Spotter's Thread standards" and in the same post as my mini rant even :)

One more 2013 spot was last weekend on route 46 in Parsippany a black 458 coupe.

An LF-A would be nice to spot in the wild.. I've yet to see one driving on the streets.

Me either, likely because many people with $400,000 to spend on a car don't want a Lexus. My $0.02.

Aside from the NYIAS last year, I've seen one LFA: the owner of Prestige autos owns it. He had it at Prestige Lexus last year. Our salesman told me it has 0 miles on it. What a waste, because that car produces an incredible sound.

As far as what the "standards" are for this thread, it should just be whatever we feel is worthy, right? To me, seeing a GTR or Merc SL55 doesn't turn my head the way a Z06 or 911 Turbo would. Just my opinion.

An LMA would be even cooler.

Or an M1. I'm still on the lookout for an M1.

Time for a "Spots Wanted" thread?
