Everything sells on ebay!......then gets relisted :)
Yah think? We'll have to see on this one. I think eBay is used as just an advertising tool in many cases.
Looking for reverse lite switch for Espada, any help will be appreciated. Chadbourn Bolles 803 532 6257 803 798 3044 cell
No affiliation, but I stumbled across this whilst idly browsing today. I remember seeing this car featured in Octane magazine some years ago and thinking it was fantastic looking. But even superb as it is, I can't help thinking that the asking price is a bit....optimistic/barking mad. Thoughts anyone?? http://www.finecars.cc/en/detail/car/205383/index.html?no_cache=1&ret=63 apologies if it is a repost, and very best wishes to all for the Christmas season. Mark.
Latest on the red Espada on eBay. The highest bidder did not pick up the car, but my friend in town did. He drove it back from TX to CO yesterday. What a great buy!
man am i out of the loop !! Have not been on VLG for a while ! Let hope they get even half then i will sell mine .................................. not Merry Christmas Bob wishing you the very best for 2013 Gary Espada 8294 EtypeFHC 887465
Translation, the highest bidder was a shill. Good for your friend I hope he enjoys the car. Kind of low for that car if it's all it's purported to be even if it is a S3.
Gary, I'm manning the suicide hotline this weekend so I've got your back ... LOL. Yours is probably nicer ... Besides you're not ever selling right? Merry Christmas to you as well. I had the Espada out again on Tuesday but today all the roads got salted so I'm done until spring I guess.
??? S3 is the best of the bunch. Better suspension, better brakes, most horsepower, best built. The only bad thing about most S3s is the big ugly bumpers, but this early S3 has the small bumpers just like the S1 and S2, with small rubber extensions that are easy to remove, not the big ugly bumpers. The real only visual differences are between S1, S2, and S3, are wheels, bumpers, and dash. But under the skin, for performance and reliability, the cars got better as time went on.
But the market disagrees and that's what I meant. I think they're all great. I have lot's of cars I love with which the market disagrees.
I for one just CANNOT get past the DASH i an S3 . Gone is the beautiful wood on doors , the sensible and timeless guage cluster arrangement also surrounded in wood in the true classic style and last and most important what i think is one of the most beautiful and sporting wood rimmed steering wheels of all time . Since this this is where i spend all my time when it comes to my Espada, it matters much. Therefore the eurospec ( no gigantic side markers) S2 even over the S1 gets my vote biased or not. here is my interior for reference . I challenge any S3 interior shot ever shown to evoke this much pure Italian class as an S2 or even the unsettled S1 interior. Gary Espada 8394 Image Unavailable, Please Login
Of course your comments are purely subjective and a matter of taste, as are mine that follow! I must mention that early S3 has many of the S2 carryover features, such as the stainless bumpers (with rubber bumpers underneath that are easy to take off), and the wood in the doors. See the pics below. Here's my opinion on dashes: S1 is the coolest to look at, but silly to use. S2 is the nicest of all. S3 is the most ergonomic, but cluttered. Here's my opinion on steering wheels: S3 has the nicest steering wheel because it is the LP400 steering wheel albeit a couple inches larger in diameter, but otherwise the same Ferrero model, and I love the LP400 steering wheel. No doubt, though, that all Espada steering wheels are cool. Also, the S3 has a stereo placement that works. You can't reach the stereo in the S2, so I guess you have to have a passenger to work it for you! I just got mine, as Tom mentioned. The first one for me, but joining a large number of Countachs, Diablos, and an LM. I think that all the series of Espada are cool cars and very undervalued. I am l@@king for my fathers series one 1970 Espada, I do not have the VIN but last I saw of it was late 80s sold San Juan Capistrano Ca. Blue with light blue interior, David K spindle original owner. painted three times I know of but for the life of me cant remember the original color the blue fit so well its stuck in my mind. https://sphotos-a.xx.fbcdn.net/hphotos-prn1/150926_4492257977956_754040141_n.jpg
+1 The S3 is nice but if I wanted a dash like that....I have my Urraco. In an Urraco, you have no real choice but an Espada you do. In recent years I have become more attracted to anything wood in an old, non-american, car.
Speaking of which. I have been trying to register at VLG, but it doesn't seem to work. The message I get is 'wrong confirmation word answer'. I take it Lamborghini's first name was Ferruccio? I've tried every possible other (wrong) spelling
