The Alpine unit shown in the RHD 25th Joe posted in the reply I've quoted above is the 7390M, which I'm about to fit to my QV. This was Alpine's ultimate (and very expensive) headunit at the time but it requires separate amplifiers, as it doesn't have any amps built in.

My QV has an additional DIN slot thanks to a period addition to the dash, which housed either a graphic equaliser or one of the very first CD head units (I think the real reason it was added was so the UK Lamborghini importer could make some extra ££££). I've found the correct '86 Alpine graphic equaliser, so I'm going to fit that in there as well.

Below is a link to the guys who can source all this period Alpine stuff in the UK and although the link shows a 7390M headunit with orange illumination, they can supply it with (Lamborghini correct) green illumination, if required..

The 7903 CD player was also just a head unit with the alpine 3528 amp located in the passenger foot well.

Hard to say and I think it was just a random thing.

Witness this 25th with cream leather, red piping & carpets, yet the steering wheel pad is black also.

    The white/white 25th is 12631 FWIW

Thanks! That's very interesting. I've never seen that before and I had no idea about these stickers. Cool piece of Lambo trivia! Back then, when the car was new, that sticker was probably just a piece of trash to most, and nobody gave it a second thought after throwing it away. Great collectible piece to have today!

Of interest to some may be the fact that 12675 was originally delivered new to France and also lived in the Netherlands.

Shown below with French-spec yellowed headlamps & driving lamps.

The only RHD 25th I ever saw in Bleu Acapulco was this car UK-registered F 846 PYN, imaged outside Portman UK's service center circa 1990.

Looks like it needs some work. From the advert and a translation:

"This vehicle was shut down some time ago, and disappeared in a collection. Since the engine was not on, and the vehicle has prior damage. After purchase with further investments."

Makes sense, the price reflects this. In the UK a nice well-maintained one pictured in this thread recently sold for circa $200k. Even from pictures alone you can see this car is a project.

The color seems more like a gun-metal grey than blue to me, but maybe it is just the picture?

Just the pictures, I think. The color you are thinking of is Nero Metalizzato (Doppio Strato).

Here is 12718 in that color, a car sold with some 350 miles on the clock, one of 3 known cars in the USA (each has a different interior - grey, tan & black).

The first owner of my car, a Mr Klapp (Joe do you remember anything about him?) decided that the standard Alpine tape wasn't sufficient so on delivery he had a large carbuncle added to the dash to accommodate a CD player and the equaliser as well as transferring the phone from his previous car, having the piping colour changed to red and fitting the wing with modified struts. Here is a period photo. The phone has subsequently been removed but the Alpine is still there although the model may have changed after a break in. It has model 7284L tape with 5905 CD and 3310 equaliser

I also have the name Leemes (B) in my notes but no idea where this is. Probably a misspelling / wrong translation of a place somewhere in Belgium.

Was this done at the factory? Probably not. Doesn't look very OEM to me...

Definitely the same car as in post #97.

Although I’ve no hard proof I’m pretty sure this car is again KLA12820 without the special headlamps and in another (original ?) color. All other details (including the registration date) match with KLA12820.

Done by Alpine UK in collaboration with Portman UK when the cars were fairly new.

No it was done after delivery to the UK by Portmann at the same time as the PDI etc and they also fitted the wing. Whilst it's not the most attractive modification it has stood the test of time and they did a good job in matching the leather colour etc. I have the instructions that somebody wrote down for one of the previous owners, for the CD to work the other 2 components have to be set up a certain way otherwise nothing happens. I have never tried it as there seems little point when there's a V12 with a quicksilver exhaust to listen to.
    Cheers
    Keith

I don't remember Mr Klapp per se, but I do remember half-a-dozen 88.5 getting this aftermarket binnacle added to house the Alpine components. As mentioned above, Alpine UK did the work.
