They are quite easy to take apart - and then you can really do a good job polishing the aluminum.

Take good photos first so you can put it back together correctly.

Use an old toothbrush, some old socks and Alu Magic and work field for field.

Have fun!

 

Simichrome polish with cotton towels / tee shirts works well. It is labor intensive - as I did small area at a time under good lighting.

 

Much easier in the long run to disassemble, I think.
