Good point. It appears the factory never bothered to fit an Alpine unit in 12085.

Definitely not, my car was done at the factory and they installed everything in the middle.

In all of the USA 25ths I have seen (& I have seen a few), the original Alpine unit appears to be intact. My thoughts are that all USA cars came supplied with an Alpine unit, probably 7903, although as we know with Lamborghini there are no absolute rules.

It appears that 25ths supplied as new cars to Australia had the following spec:

    - Side-marker lights on all 4 corners comprised of the small square Carello units that were in use on the Countach since the LP400 in 1974.

    - Fuel injected engine.

    - RHD specification.

Curiously, 12894 pictured here (Red, Champagne with Red Piping) happens to currently be residing in London, UK. Apologies for the small pics, I have large ones somewhere and will post when I find them.

Australian spec RHD 25th 12894, now UK-registered on standard period plates G 990 PRP, as seen in London, note rear side-marker and fuel-injected spec engine cover.

You are correct Joe. My 12521 was the same. With an ANSA sport exhaust it sounds just like a car with carbs. (see my video on you tube if you search (Lamborghini Countach with ANSA sport)

Here is the video, sounds great! The Ansa (as used by the works in the period) is peerless for sound quality, I think.

I like the sound a lot, but was that Countach really warmed up enough for him to hit it like that? I would think the oil was just beginning to flow.

It had already been running for about an hour before stopping for photos and video. I only pass 3000 rpm after all fluids are up to temperature.

Another with the Ansa F1 sport exhaust, the aforementioned black Melbourne (?) car with RUN 4 IT plates.

Kevin, can you confirm this Giallo 25th's chassis number? Thanks. It seems to have Belgian dealer plates affixed.

Portman UK used a company called Connaught Design to add the extra unit on the side of the main dash.

First shown at the 1988 London Motor Show I believe on a white? RHD 88.5 QV.

    Excellent, thank you.

Can you confirm the purple car (with magnolia leather/red piping/red carpets) is 12081?

In response to an e-mail about these 2 posts:

the question is begged, are the color-coded wheel centers factory application?

The simple answer is I dont know as it relates to those particular cars, but, I do know at least 3 cars came with their wheel centers color-coded by the factory, one of which is Joe Nastasi's special-order 12039 (red/magnolia, sport seats with red piping)

I saw the units when new, and I thought they worked ok then, but I'm not sure they have aged well, and nowadays in our originality-focused classic car world they stand out as being non-original aftermarket application. The first unit I saw was in a car that belonged to a Hong Kong-based gentleman
