I will be taking my 02 360 spider into Wynn in the next 2 weeks to have it major 3 year 30k service done. Up untill recently I bought the car at 32,000 miles with no service history at all. Last week I I had a new clutch, pressure plate, hill throw out bearing, rear main seal, pilot bearing, clutch position sensor, clutch position sensor mounting bracket, flywheel, all fluids and filters changed (2 year service). Both engine mounts updated to f430 and transmission mount. I am very happy woth the work Penske Wynn ferrari in las Vegas did for me and want them to do the major 30k. Hole they are in changing timing belts and acc. Belts. What else should I definitely change regardless of if it needs to be. For example if cam seam fine and they don't recommend it do I replace them anyways?? Last thing I want a year down the road is for the new belts need to be removed again to replace some seal or something that could have. Been done while doing the 30k service. Please advise

Have them check variator recall/change was performed

Belt bearings should be changed if there's no record - I have a feeling it might be worth doing cam seals but others need to confirm

The only thing you missed in the last service is a full belt service (and maybe put new plugs in it).

Belts with tensioners et al should be $2400 ($1800 for just the belts). Plugs no more than another $400 or thereabouts. They should be able to tell if there are any other leaks that might require additional gaskets to need changing.

I can't think of anything else. That must be a $12k+ introductory total service on your 360!

Thank you. I'll be purchasing the belt package with all the hill tensioners from ricambe. I'll be getting the spark plugs as well. Thanks.

My timing belts are 3 years old with less than 10K miles. tensioners are make some noise when car is cold, less when car is warmed up. do you think they need replacement?

The guys at Penske Wynn are pretty nice folks and straight shooters. They will tell you what you need to have done. They can look up things, like the variators or any other prior campaigns required, if you ask about them. Also, they won't tell you to get anything done at a scheduled maintenance if it doesn't look necessary based on the condition of the part/fluid. But if you want to pay for something they don't recommend, they will probably be happy to do it.

If the tensioner bearing is making noise I'd replace it if it were me. That suggests loss of lubricating grease... which suggests it could lock up and kill the belt... and then that bank of cylinders.

    Listen when vrsurgeon speaks...

This gentleman REALLY knows his stuff.

I agree that while everything is all apart you may as well address this issue.

Why so expensive in the US? I've just priced in the UK and cambelts only is $800 and that is main dealer.
