Its now confirmed that the "Lira Pit" will be gracing the Lawn in Florida in March .When fellow Lambo enthusiast and world renowned restorer Gary Bobileff was asked by the shows founder Bill warren " can you find me the nicest Espada in North America for this years lamborghini feature?" Gary responded by suggesting my car ! Wow what an honour. This show second only Pebble Beach concours and is invitaion only event showcasing some of the most historically significant cars ever. I will be in very good company along side the the other featured marques this year celebrating the 911 and the GT40 and the lamborghini feature, this being the 50th birthday of Lamborghini . . Among some of the great cars present will be "the " GT40 that was used by Steve Mcqueen to film Lemans the movie and sold last summer by RM for north of 10million !! More importantly is the cars extensive race history prior to this movie work. The organizers have graciously agreed with the help of my friends at RM to pick up the costs to ship my car to Florida and back to get my car their in time to also participate in the Amelia tour on the Friday prior to the show . Truly a humbling surprise to a car nut in the frozen Tundra! First off big thanks goes to Brett from Grand Tourismo In Allistion for breathing new life by rebuilding my engine and allowing me over 12 thousand miles of never a hiccup driving "with points" Brett has been quoted once or twice... "electronic ignitions of for guys who cant fix points!"LOL next is Gary Nolan of Diamond Trim and Valentino Balboni for giving me what I now know is THE most correct and perfectly put together Espada interior anywhere. to Stans Power Paint for the shiny shine! To Gary Bobileff for even thinking of me . to the boys .. Don , Ernie and Mario at RM restorations for the finest customer service on the planet ! If this sounds like an Academy Award thank you speech ....well for a petrolhead like me ... it is . Hope to see some Canadians there Sunday Mar 10/13 Gary Espada 8394 EtypeFHC 887465
Congratulations Gary I know you have one of the finest (if not the finest) Espada's around. Wish you luck at the event.

Congratulations! That's quite an honour. If we are in Florida in March, definitely stop by, if not, See you on the Ice cream circuit.
My name is Justin and I make movies. (Albeit small movies) I made this last year at the Amelia. https://vimeo.com/39417189 I shot that video just as a visitor and a car lover. People seemed to really identify with the way it was put together. This year I'm partnering with the folks at the Concours to make another short film about the experience of attending what is quickly becoming (in my mind) the people's concours. They have a link to my video from their media page https://www.ameliaconcours.org/newsandmedia/default.aspx . The story just got picked up on Jalopnik (along with a short promo I cobbled together) http://jalopnik.com/5974578/the-next-great-american-classic-car-concours-is-coming-up Alright. Now that I've proved my credentials. How about a ride? By all internet accounts and the limited conversation I can see here, you seem like a real nice guy with a real nice car. I will be in Amelia from Thursday AM until Tuesday AM, and I'd love the chance to shoot some footage from in/on the car. Thanks for the time and consideration. Sorry to be so long winded. You can email me back directly if you would like. [email protected] Thank you. Cheers Justin
Great to hear that your car is going to Amelia Gary. We may have a certain presence there too. Details to follow
Ok car gods this is just crazy!!!! Amelia Concours is not even here yet and I just yesterday got an invite to bring the Lira Pit to The Concours of the Americas at Inn at St Johns in Michigan ( formerly Meadowbrook Concour d Elegance) This show very similar in nature but older and more established even than Amelia , was once held at the glorious Dodge brothers estate "Meadowbrook Hall " in Auburn Hills Mich but is now at the Inn in Livonia Michwhich in my minds a better venue . Typical of this concours is the emphasis on many featured marques in different circles throught the showfield. I guess this being the 50th anniversary year of Lamborghini, many are honoring this great marque . At the ripe old age of 20 something iI attended my first show here with dreams of one day having a nice classic Italian ride to grace the lawn . Now over 20 something years later its another one to tick off my bucket list . My Espada aside , if you have not been its definately worth the 6 hours it may take to get there . Sadly you will not ever see this calibre of cars in this quantity and variety Canada ever. We may have lots of Ferraris in Vaughn and lots of Lambos in Oakville and a ton of old britsh metal too boot but we are simply unmatched by sheer population stats and the state of michigan alone . Remember this was once car mecca for the world and collectors there are many. All that said Google "Concours of the Americas" and show up if you want to see what a really top notch concours looks like on this side of the pond . see you on the lawn Gary Espada 8394 etypeFHC 887465
