Looking for a little input on what color to spray a Ghibli spyder, car came black / tan interior from the factory but the owner has a number of black cars so he's not crazy about another black car in the stable, car has been painted pearle white, then gold then wine red and finally ferrari red, it will be a bare metal strip and then going into glasurit 2 stage, interior will stay tan. Any idea's ??

How about one of my favorite colors. That would be $800,000 Ghibli Spyder Green.

First decide if you want a sporty look or luxurious look. Color combos will far into those categories.
Then decide smooth color combo such as gray/tan or contrasting colors such blue/red.
Choose period correct maserati colors for ghiblis. My 2 cents

...just a question: is this your job to decide which paint the car should get or is this the "part" of the owner?
Seems a very strange guy to me - owns a Ghibli Spyder and has no idea.

I'm not picking the color, the owner is on the fence, he's thinking about a dark blue, non metallic colors in general. I'll paint it any color he picks but black is out and i'm tired of red sports cars so red wouldn't be my pick. Does anyone have some factory maserati paint codes they would share? Car is a 1970.

He should paint it the same color as it left the factory. The Ghibli Spyder is not exactly a mass produced car, right now the Ghibli Spyder is leading the way for classic Maserati GT cars to gain the recognition and appreciation for the marque. The more that are restored to the same standard as Ferraris and Lamborghinis the better.

If he is tired of Black, change the color on one of the other cars he owns where it won't make much of a difference what color it is painted.

Go to Enricos' Maserati Pages website (UK) - on the left there is a scroll bar - and in red - Maserati Paint Colours by vehicle type with factory paint codes - on page 2.

    Very useful information

I'm not such a purist that I would just have to paint it the factory original. Dark blue is elegant. And it's almost the original black. The tan interior is a great look.

    I say, Blue/tan.

Red with NASA-blue, and a yellow-ish undertone, covered by a fresh gray with purple spots and a tiny little undercoat of Tinseltown-pink....!..............:)

IMNSHO the Ghibli looks stunning in Tobacco, and in general I think darker, richer colors suit the bodywork better than light ones, aside from silver/grey.

Rare to see what appears to be a mid to late VIN number Ghibli (since it has headrests and front bumper overriders) with true knock off wheels. Very nice.
