....then 512bbi prices ought to be accelerating twice as fast.

    any evidence of this?

Are they rising? There have been 100k 512tr's for a long time, I'd say whats new to the market are the mid 70's TRs

I have seen 3 bbi sitting at under 100 for a while - google it and you will see how many are for sale. Not sure they are moving in price yet.

I took Ross' observation to mean "if/then" like it would fit logically. I agree with that.

SCM reports movement on BBs, regularly prods the "big brother/little brother" price disparity with Dinos. Newman hunted pretty hard and clearly knows the product, says 110-140 on BBs for middle market not uncommon; far higher for top cars. I too see the low 100s on some BBs, but without casting aspersion, seems to be the same cars months on end.

To me the wild card is total and similarly-bodied Testarossa/TR production and separating just the TRs. Muscle car markets do this all the time with similarly-bodied cars (a 318 vs Hemi, base 327 vs tri-power 427, et al).

It seems the TR and Testarossa series are getting a wider gulf between them. With 2251 TRs built, semi short supply isn't hurting. Appears more are hunting TRs than current good crop on the market.

Will be interesting to watch. Heading to Scottsdale tomorrow, expect to see some of all for sale.

    yes thats what i meant.

i have seen the growing delta between testarossa's and tr's but that was to be expected.

on the bbi question, i have said this over and over on here, but having taken one completely apart and put it back together again (not me personally, but i was there nearly every day having a look), there is a VAST difference between a car that has been kind-of maintained, and one that has been thoroughly gone through and had all defective or just ancient parts replaced. and that has a cost. you either pay it up front, or later. but that is the delta between those 'been around for ever at 100k' cars, and mine for example. and i think mine is worth 200k - although i am fully aware that i wont get that for it.

yes i referred to bbi's since i have one. there is a price delta between bb's and bbi's, but that is not that big. over time, and certainly in markets where ethanol is prevalent, it will narrow and might even invert.
