Wow. Just. . . wow. How did he get a Ferrari VIN number attached to that? How does he arrive at the $5k figure for the title and number? Very weird.
They didn't make any original 250 GTO spiders/convertibles. The best one I've seen in pictures is the custom 250 GTO convertible that Frank Beard (drummer for ZZ Top) had made. Beautiful lines on it. Not sure who made it for him. I wonder where that car is now? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I thought so. Looked all wrong. The owner wouldn't even look at me (I was in my 348). Sorta weird to see vanity plates like that (F250GTO) on a fake car.
Is this guy serious? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Kelmark-GT1-Mark-lll-Unique-American-Supercar-Very-Rare-and-Collectable-/300847634218?pt=US_Cars_Trucks&hash=item460bea972a
Thankfully so. There are some replicas that are so crappy that you thank God that, although it is an attempt at a replica, it is so bad that noone in their right mind will confuse it for the real thing, or even a replica of the real thing.
And thats something I can overlook since id be trading it for performance thats superior to the original.
Don't know if these have popped up here... The first is a Honda, Second is a waste of a good 6 series, and the third is a Mercury Cougar. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Pretty sure: 1. Cab looks too tall for length, common among Fiero-based replicas; 2. Window louvers would be more appropriate to a GTS, although this is a GTB (non-Targa) type replica, also common among Fiero-based replicas; 3. As the top pops off when it's on the crusher around :55, it appears that the frame of the original sunroof become visible; 4. It's unlikely that most salvage lots would simply crush an intact, original Ferrari body that appears to be in decent condition, even if the mechanicals are trashed. Original doors, deck lid, front deck, even fenders could probably be sold for something.
also the gas cap is a give-a-way. When it is crushed, the panels are seen to be fiberglass and does not bend, but breaks and shreds. Brakes are the wrong size and the rotors are not correct. She's a fake, meeting her appropriate fate. JD
You're right! I didn't even notice the gas cap, something that just sticks in my craw when I see a Fiero-based 308 replica in the flesh. Of course, you're right about the fiberglass overlay, too.
