I started my engine out last week- I have a 4 post so I followed the "safe" four post method I learned about from the site.

It was a cold -5 when it came out, thank goodness for great friends. It is now in my nice warm garage being torn down.

    Stay tuned for more pictures.

It's even more fun when your done and take it into a ferrari dealer for ac freon refill and explain to them you did your own engine out service. They just looked at me like I was nuts.

    Awesome...
I'm still debating about doing my own or not.

Will be interested to hear how you get the bearings off and back on.. that's the part which scares me.

If you don't have the proper tools you definitely have to be creative to compress that spring but it's not that difficult. Degreeing the cams is a much more daunting task if you've never done it before...

I assumed you were talking about the tensioner when you mentioned taking the bearings off... my apologies if I was incorrect...

Part #29 is the spring I was talking about...

yep.. that's the spring.. I'll have to rewatch the video.. I don't recall that part being hard.

#18 I think is the one I saw in the online video the fchatter fashioned his own puller to get it out and get it back on.. that's the one that worries me.

Hey this is very impressive! I guess you don't have a Homeowners Association trying to run your lives! Are nosy neighbors investigating your garage?

Holy ****! How could you have known? I live in a gated community of about 30 houses. Half of which are lawyers. So, every six months they are ammending the covenants. Hell if it wasn't for the fact that the neighbors are awestruck by my 355 I would be in trouble!

Must have made it sound more complicated than it was. See if this maybe helps?
