Indeed. More "innovations" outlawed. OTOH, I could definitely make the "so what?" argument..... Did either improve the racing? Also worth noting that, contrary to common belief, these innovations were not banned until the following season. You come up with something that Charlie can't explicitly outlaw you do still have an advantage for at least that season. Cheers, Ian
"Devils advocate"?...... Seriously, we know that with rules stability the engineers get closer to "perfection" every year. Sure, the rules are tight, but despite claims to the contrary it remains a *long* way from the hated spec series; You can still innovate, just that the longer the rules remain the same the less "visible" any innovations become. But, you find one, Charlie will normally let you keep it for at least that season, and if it's that good the others have gotta play catch up - Never easy. Cheers, Ian
I don't think that's a release from Ferrari. Considering... http://www.racingandwaiting.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/02/mclaren_berlin.jpg
I just love that a graphic copy of a veiled car can get us excited enough to post.. Time to stick a fork in it, we are way past ready for F1 to fire-up again
I kind of like the miascuderia site, but all he's done there is take the Ferrari teaser, flipped it (to throw us off? ) and photoshopped the color - At least that's all I did to get the below - They're even the same size!...... Cheers, Ian Image Unavailable, Please Login
I think he's largely responsible for their resurgence last year. Talented guy...maybe not the most morally just, but talented for sure.
+1 While it's generally accepted that he did indeed use the stuff Stepney gave him I do wonder what he/they *really* learned...... They all go down their own paths within the very restrictive ruleset and are alarmingly close - There's no other way to do it. Yes, he was stupid to tell his wife to get the whole mess digitized, but I do find his initial claim that it was for "intellectual study" to be somewhat believable. I know I'd love to see it all!....... Note I'm not defending him, but Stepney was the thief IMO. Cheers, Ian
from the horse himself: Ross Brawn: This car has been project led by Aldo (Costa) and hes done a fantastic job and Im really excited by that. Like any of us in life if we are excited by what we are doing we carry on doing it. If it's bad, we can all blame Costa for being an idiot and fire him like Ferrari did, if not, Ferrari can kick themselves for the rest of the decade.
