Yeah, only pics, though. Pretty ridiculous project he commissioned. :) I saw his Avus blue 2000 E39 M5 in person back around 2000-2001 when my buddy and I went to the [then called] Bay Hill Invitational. We were in high school at the time and were more interested in checking out the golfers' cars (Tiger's white 993TT was nice) than the game itself, haha.

Please post pics when you can! The E61 is one of my favorite wagons of all time. :)

Edit: I actually contacted BMW North America not too long ago regarding importing an E61 M5. All they did was say to go through a RI to get it federalized...no other help from them. I guess they really want to protect their used car market here. Some place in Baltimore has done a number of conversions for the first M5 Tourings (1993), but none for the E61 as far as I know. Would probably be $20k+ on top of the $30k to buy a used one in Italy or Germany that's been ragged on.

You don't wanna know what I'd do for that E36.

Not sure why they didn't put M3 mirrors on it though...

Yeah, mirrors would have been an easy change on it. The only thing I don't like about the E36T is the back gate...too smooth and round. The E39T and E61 are a little more aggressive.

They go for little money in Europe...wish we had deals like that over here. Even an E61 M5 can be bought for $35k USD (export price, no 19% VAT).

Supposedly there are several E36Ts running around the US. I have yet to see one in person. There are close to a thousand listed for sale on mobile.de. Cheapest one is less than 400 Euro (yes, like $500 USD). http://suchen.mobile.de/auto-inserat/bmw-318i-touring-klimaautomatik-warstein/172102291.html?lang=de&pageNumber=1&__lp=43&scopeId=C&sortOption.sortBy=price.consumerGrossEuro&makeModelVariant1.makeId=3500&makeModelVariant1.modelId=7%2C8%2C9%2C10%2C11%2C12%2C13%2C14%2C15%2C56%2C72&makeModelVariant1.searchInFreetext=false&makeModelVariant2.searchInFreetext=false&makeModelVariant3.searchInFreetext=false&makeModelVariantExclusion1.searchInFreetext=false&minFirstRegistrationDate=1900-01-01&maxFirstRegistrationDate=1998-12-31&negativeFeatures=EXPORT&categories=EstateCar

The E36 chassis shares the same wheelbase across the compact, coupe, sedan, and wagons apparently. Maybe you could buy a cheap E36T in Europe for parts only and then swap out the body (the part after the firewall/bulkhead) and make your own custom M3T. :) Otherwise the feds may track you down for VIN swapping if you use the entire car/shell. ;)

+1 - that's very cool. I had one of these in high school (same color and rims, but mine in much better shape) - had a 348ci with a 3-spd on the column...one bad ride!!!

Thank you. The description is equally as worthy.

2002 Audi allroad. bi-turbo 2.7-liter 6-cylinder engine. With 6-speed manual transmission. The car dynoed out just over 400hp to all 4 wheels!! Included with the car are its stock rims wrapped in aggressive Snow tires!

No expense was spared to bring this perfect large bi-turbo wagon to life. Combined with the amazing 2.7T engine, a 6-speed manual transmission and a widebody wagon stance.

    Modifications
K04 turbos with full stage 3 fueling and chip tuning by EPL.
RS4 air intake pipe (wide metal Y-pipe with bright silver finish).
AWE Tuning intercoolers (largest side-mount intercoolers available).
Defi-Link Meter BF boost gauge in matching white and red illumination.
VAST Performance phenolic intake spacers to isolate the intake manifold from the heat of the cylinder heads.
    AWE Tuning drivetrain stabilizer.
    RS4 motor mounts.
    VAST Performance snub mount.
    VAST Performance lightweight flywheel.
Southbend endurance clutch and new flywheel surface plate
VAST Performance downpipes which increase flow and decrease turbo heat by removing small "pre-cats" catalytic converters sitting just behind the turbos (main catalytic converters still in place).
Custom catback exhaust with dual Magnaflow tips
Huge Porsche Cayenne Turbo 6-pot red brake calipers.
ECS Tuning 13.9-inch cross-drilled and slotted 2-piece floating rotors.
Hartmann 19 x 8 inch Lamborghini Gallardo replica wheels. H-Sport front and rear swaybars.
Colormatched bumpers and flares (for that agressive RS6-like widebody stance).
Air-suspension was electronically lowered for improved handling and a more agressive stance.
The suspension retains full use of the height adjustment function (lowest of 4 settings is shown in photos) and there is no tire rubbing of any kind.

While the engine was out of the vehicle at around 75k miles, a complete overhaul was done to it: new timing belt, new accessory belt, all new tensioners and rollers, new water pump, new thermostat, both new oil pan seals, new front and rear crank seals, all new cam seals, new valve cover gaskets, new coolant after-run pump, new starter, new diverter valves, new spark plugs, new oxygen sensors (all 4), new coolant temperature sensor, new low-temp fan switch, a complete transmission and rear differential gear oil change (Motul fluids used). The engine, transmission and rear differential are all 100% leak free!

The car has 113k engine was pulled at around 75k for the build. I just put 8k into the car because a small tick came up. It was a cam chain tensioner. While they were fixing that I had another new timing belt, water pump put on. Also put a new Southbend endurance clutch and new flywheel surface plate on it. Also replaced the whole front end to tighten the steering up. A new high performance rear diff mount was installed to remove anymore driveline slop. The Front brakes were also recently replaced. If you have anyother questions let me know. 3zero3 Motorsports is my choice shop and they know the car.

It would be ALOT less expensive to just throw in aftermarket forged rods/pistons on the TT-V6 and have the engine completely balanced along with ARP bolts and studs, steel HG's and a proper 'engine management system'. With an adequate fuel system and proper dyno tuning you could realistically expect 700-800whp, jmo.

I love your "grocery getter" though!
