Yes. Taking mu daughter there for her 18th birthday. Plan to be on the mountain saturday and sunday till 3.

 

Lucky. You guys will see some amazing stuff. Dang, your daughter is going to be 18? I remember meeting her a couple of years ago at a car event and I thought she was like 13. Time flies when you're not paying attention.

William, you should get in touch with PhilNotHill. He's a local and let's just say, you guys probably agree on all things political.

Tomorrow is a ski day for sure.

Aspen Valley Hospital will have some snowmobilers spending the night...or more.

BTW I have met Gretchen Bleiler...she used to wait tables at Main Street Bakery. What a doll.

 

Did someone say Gretchen? Makes coming to work that much more enjoyable.

I saw that nasty spill that Caleb Moore took lastnight, they first thought he suffered a concussion now he's having emergency surgery to repair bleeding around his heart

 

Probably flew him to Denver. They don't do open heart at Aspen Valley Hospital. I wish him the best.

 

Watching on TV now. Wow those jumps are HUGE, bigger than a house. You need a lot of speed to hit those and clear the flat.

Snowmobilers are the craziest of the group and seem to get the most injured. Insane.

They said there were 43,000 here for the games.

If you are coming you better hurry. It's almost over.

 

Several injuries in a variety of categories. These guys and gals are pushing it to the limit. These games are kind of a cross between sport and stunt. Will be watching the half pipe tonight.

The games ended with beautiful blue skies and Shaun White winning his 6th consecutive gold medal in the pipe. Everyone is nuts about him here.

Town will go back to normal over-partying and apres' ski.

 

Shaun White earned it. He did some amazing things. That Japanese kid was amazing as well. Wouldn't be surprised to see an Olympic metal around his neck in two years.

Latest on Caleb Moore is that he may not pull through. His grandfather stated,
"The prognosis is not good at all. It's almost certain he's not going to make it."

Caleb had been doing these kind of things, silly or not, for many years. Man wasn't meant to fly but that hasn't stopped him from trying. Yes, there is risk involved. This is the first time someone has been killed at an X Games event and people have been doing back flips on snowmobiles and dirt bikes for some time now.
