Hi Stefano, good to hear from you - did you find any pictures of my old Urraco with the URRACO licence plate? The 25th was a great gathering - too bad the new Lamborghini management is only interested in selling the new cars - can you decifer the licence plate number of that black Countach behind your Silhouette - could be mine? I need to convert my old 25th video to CD one of these days - Ciao e auguri - Alex

    Ciao Alex,

it is possible that the black Countach behind my Silhouette was registered FI 29***, and if it is so, then it was owned by a friend of mine in Florence, though I'm not sure; it's very difficult to read it even in the original pic. I donated the negatives, the other prints and much more historical stuff to the Lamborghini archives several years ago, so I don't have them anymore. Anyway, I still remember fondly your Urraco..... I hope that you are all well!

    Cheers

    Stefano

    Stefano,

So nice to see you walking down memory lane, as some of us have been doing lately. Can you believe its been 25 years since you were in that image?

The image was taken in the town of Salsomaggiore in early September 1988 on the occasion of the celebration of the factory's 25th Anniversary, and the launch of the Countach 25th Anniversario.

I think you are dressed very appropriately, a reflection of a time when Lamborghini was a brand that represented informal fun, long before politics & commercial aspirations arrived!

Regarding the Countach of which Alex is inquiring, I can say that there were 2 Countach QV that were both Italy-registered and also Nero, in attendance. There was 12087 from Cassina, and 12355 from Florence. Hope this information helps Alex.

    Ciao!

Regrettably the so called 'Museum Series' Silhouette issued by Minichamps is not the ex-Pasini car 40054 at all but is identical to the one previously issued, ie 40018 complete with white interior, large white mirrors and engine cover vent 'roofs', although the packaging shows 40054!

Incidentally I only recently discovered that the targa roof can be removed! This also applies to the Minichamps Jalpa.

Do you know if #40002 was in Swiss in the early eighties?

Only 6 cars were delivered in white (bianco labrador) when new; #40002, #40008, #40084, #40086, #40104 and #40106.

#40018 was delivered in red (rosso siviglia), nevertheless it's white since at least the late-eighties. Knowing that it was delivered in mid 1977 it would surprise me if it was already white in 1980.

I have no clue when 40002 came to switzerland, but I can ask the creator of #4808 if he can remember that silhouette, since in the picture you can see his 4808 being transformed to white giant.
But be aware that memories can fool somebody, it's more than 30 years, things might get mixed up, but he is still in exotic car business and knows the scene quite well.
At the moment he has almost every Maserati model for sale (if someone is interested he can contact me by PM).

The Silhouettes in/from Switzerland I know:
40002 1976 White Black with White Prototype #2. Delivered 17/11/76 to Lamborauto. Sold to Canada (Steve Maman).
40004 1976 Red Beige Delivered 08/10/76 to SEA Rome. Switerland. Was at Brooks Auction Geneva 2000. still in Switzerland
40014 1977 Red Black Delivered 19/04/77 to Lamborghini Spain. Next to U.K. Now in Switzerland. New black leather interior.
40016 1977 Red Black Delivered 30/04/77 to Foitek. Now for Sale Max Bobnar
40018 1977 Red Beige Delivered 05/05/77 to Foitek. Now finished in White over light interior. Small "roofs" on the hood grilles. Germany .
40032 1977 Red Black Delivered 14/03/77 to Willemine. Now in the UK Martin Benham
40034 1977 Silver or White, now Red Black leather with Grey inserts Delivered 20/07/77 to De Cillia, Villach, Austria. Imported to Switzerland in 1978. Was white till 1987.
40040 1977 Tahiti Blue Beige Delivered 08/01/77. Racing Car / Kessel in Switzerland.
    40046 1977 Red Beige Delivered 21/07/77 to Kessel. Now in Germany registered B-07002, formerly B-VJ 5 & B-MZ 17. Frank Witzack

I keep records for all pre-1990 lamborghini. Most of my info is collected from existing cars (info from other enthusiasts, owners, meetings, websites and forums).

I've seen your request for your fathers Espada but don't have a clue for the number. The mystery Silhouettes are relative easy ones because it's one of 54, for the Espada's it's one of 1225 candidates. I will let you know if I find something more about your fathers Espada.

I have no info that 40106 was at any time in Switzerland.
From the pictures it has black bumpers, could even been rubber bumpers, whereas 40106 has P300 metal bumpers.

I doubt this car left the factory with non standard bumpers front and rear so there must have been a good reason for replacing them.....

Two cars no longer have their original seats - 40016 multi-tone orange and black recaros and 40104 charcoal.
Unsurprisingly neither look better than the originals!
