Mine was a very late 328 - one of the '88.5 cars. The pouches were the same through the whole 328 run, it seems.

Good on Joe for posting that "Gucci Style" pouch which it shares with some number of 308's. The F40 pouch is very different and is stamped with the F40 logo, and I seem to recall the F50 one being different too. I would make sense that the 288 GTO pouch is a bit more ordinary.

We're getting a little off topic but I was sure I read an old post here recently about this which also said the later pouches were brown or tan - maybe it was the earlier ones like this http://www.ferrariliterature.com/storeworks/view_item.cfm?id=867

It's a little off-topic but we're also solving the mystery of what the pouch is for, which is on-topic.

That pouch appears (if you're to believe the Ferrari Literature folks) that it's from a 1987 car, which is early. The 1988.5 and 1989 cars were late and had the maroon leather pouch. I know that from my ownership and my stints as a Concours Judge.

My F40 pouch is the light tan but obviously the different pattern with the F40 stamp. From a chronological perspective, t would seem strange to from light tan, to maroon, back to light tan but Ferrari and its suppliers have done stranger things.

I suspect that this pouch is from a 328 or maybe a 3.2 Mondial.
