    Based on the short description, I have a hard time understanding how they are fitting a "correct" dimension 246 body on a 308GT4 frame unless they shortened it.
    The two cars have very different wheelbases.

    If they did shorten it, I then have a hard time understanding how they fit a longitudinal 360 drivetrain.

    To my eye they fudged the body to fit the GT4 frame which then allowed the drivetrain to fit.

    I'd rather have a 308 GT4, 328 or even a 360 than this aborted frankenmobile.

    At least the shortened GT4 gives it an even chassis number?
    I'd rather have the 308 transverse engine than a modern one squeezed in.

    according the builder of the fiberglass body (Dino 246 builds and discussion (Madabout Kitcars forum)) that project is not based on a shortened 308 gt4 chassis. the builder of the fiberglass body supplied the body to the company that used a 328 chassis (identified by the position of the handbrake) and mounted a 360 engine to it...don't know how much that changes things, other than that it should be stronger than a shortened 308

    According to the text describing it in the add, it has a 328 suspension, which we could guess is true, as it has the bulged wheels (convex) of the late 328s. If it is indeed a 328 suspension, the chassis pick-up points for this suspension, and the pyramid of tubes itself, at least at the front, are different from the 308GT4 chassis. So it would make sense using a 328 chassis...

    Maybe they use just the chassis number (plate) from a 308 Dino to give it an identity. I guess to make it registered as a 70ies car.

    The chassis # comes from a 308 GT/4 stolen in Milan #09264, the theft took place on April 21st 1977. The Modena engine is # 58935 and fits to a 2000 prod. 360, very probably around Serial Number 1216**.

    Pretty cool project. So much more interesting than the swb 288gto poser mobiles with standard transverse drivetrains out there. Though not all are 8's lets not forget the most the early "Dino" SP cars and concepts were longitude oriented.

    So what happens legally if someone purchase this car with a stolen chassis?

    Well, I would assume that the chassis was finally owned by an insurance company, and salvaged or whatever they do in Europe, and sold to someone by the insurance company and so the stigma of its theft most likely were removed, becoming part of its history, not its current status...otherwise why would anyone put it up for sale so publicly? Anyway assuming that's the case, it would be an ideal way to resister the car in California (where so many Ferraris wind up!) as 1975 is the cutoff year for not having to pass smog inspection every two years, which can sometimes be a real PIA.

    As far as the project goes, Ferrari chassis & running gear makes it a Ferrari "special", especially with the fiberglass 206/whatever body. It would be up to the buyer to do a really decent job putting it all together, of course; but if that were done- correctly, meaning it would look good, run & drive well, and generally make one's tongue hang out at first sight/drive, then what other reason would one need? I doubt that it would appeal to the "investor/collector" crowd, of course (depending on the collector), but it sure would be a fun,fun, fun project. A "206/246" with 400 hp? What a surprise THAT would be for someone with a "modern, fast" car thinking it was an original Dino, and so would be easy meat at the local stoplight G.P....
