Bought an issue on of "Road & Track on Ferrari 1950-1968" on E Bay recently and a the above individual caught my attention, two of his cars featured in the magazine, a 410 SuperAmerica and a 275 GTS.

I couldnt find a dedicated thread here on him and his collection, which google tells me was a staggering 1450 cars, which frankly defies belief. Does anyone know which/how many Ferrari's he had in that collection and does anyone have any pics of them, either period or as the cars are today( again my undestanding was the majority of the collection was sold off in the 1980's after his passing in 1978)

Honestly this must have been one staggering collection to see.

Yes my googling also brought up the infamous Jerrari...

His collection was mostly famous for its precious pre-war cars....lots of Duesys, Bugatti Royale x2, supercharged Mercedes etc.

The Daytona was for sale at Steve Harris Imports for quite some time. Sold a year or so ago.

IMO the lines of the car are ruined by this conversion!

That's far from his worst crime!

No discussion of Bill Harrah and Ferrari's would be complete without his infamous "Jerrari".
He mated the nose and V-12 engine from a 365GT 2+2 "Queen Mother" to a Jeep Grand Wagoneer. He used to drive it hard! I rember hearing that his bodyguards couldn't keep up with him in it.

I saw his Daytona in person. The color is incredible. I have never seen anything like it on any Ferrari or any car ever.

I was waiting for someone to bring this one up! It's so bad that it is good; "good" in the same way that pink lawn flamingos are "good."

Harrah also owned the sixth American-spec Queen Mother; 12333 - silver w/ red; featured in the November 1969 Road & Track. It was restored and promptly wrecked and parted out about 8 years ago. I bought the interior for the black QM I used to own, 11199.

I think its quite a daring idea, perhaps he saw that oneday Ferrari would make a four wheel drive car!

Looking at it, the other gems he owned certainly make up for the creation of the Jerrari.

Bill Harrah not only assembled an incredibly diverse car collection, he also collected classic mahogany speedboats (Thunderbird), his shops restored 3 Ford Trimotor airplanes, he built and ran a championship winning Unlimited Hydro team, his fleet of casino vehicles raised the bar for corporate livery, he became the authorized Ferrari distributor for the western US; the list goes on and on.....helluva guy! After his death, his Bugatti Royale was sold for a then world-record price to a pizza-king!

Link to a list of Ferraris once owned by Harrah. 2539GT is a 250 GTE not a SWB? All very interesting and some amazing competition cars.

IIRC, it was actually sold at auction to Jerry Moore. I don't recall if Moore sold it directly to Monaghan, or it there were intermediate sales.
