How hard is it to add interior carbon to an FF with either following Ferrari parts or aftermarket?

CARBON FIBER CENTRAL ZONE $ 4014

    Carbon Fiber Driver zone + Leds $ $ 7418

Carbon fiber Central Bridge $ 3211

CARBON FIBER DASH INSERTS $ 7143 (which is this?)

From our experience working on the 458, the center console should be fairly easy to install. Dash pieces are much more difficult. Looking at the FF parts diagrams, its hard to see if the lower, upper, or both of the dash sections need to come out. Knowing Ferrari, it doesn't just press in between the two like on 'Normal' cars! Console should be straightforward though.

The driver zone with LED's would be a total pain to replace. I would get this from the factory. The rest could be gotten later in the aftermarket when parts become available.

The dash insert is the part the separates the top and bottom of the dashboard. It can be replaced but the dash has to be removed. To me, I think it's too risky for squeaks and rattles to take the dash apart just for this.

I think aftermarket CF is really more useful for those who want to add the material to dress up their car rather than reduce costs of buying it from the factory invoice. If the car you bought didn't have it, you can add it in the aftermarket. If you want it, just order it and be done with it. The car costs $300K to begin with. A thousand in savings is nothing.

I agree with the Mayor that you need to add the parts (especially the interior) when ordering the car. The saving we offer is not more than 4-5K when ordering new. It was never our intention/thought, that a customer would order their car with a metal interior and then get ours to save a few bucks.

Pretty sure that the OP has bought a FF withut carbon and now, realizing his mistake(!) is looking to add it. In that case there's no other options.

As for rattles, the 458 interior is held together with a lot of screws. They are pretty solid before, and after we do the install. I'm sure the FF is the same.

I agree that if buying new the saving would be negligible, but where I think the service you offer comes in to its own is when somebody is buying a demonstrator, previously owned car, sometimes it's just impossible to find the 'dream' car when letting somebody else take the biggest of hit on price when new.

So having the option from you to personalise the car to how you would of bought new is allowing people to make small sacrifices when deciding to purchase a used or new cancelled order car, and making people happy knowing the service you offer is available.

Thanks everyone for all your comments. To clarify, I am looking at a previously owned car that has no interior carbon. The spec is almost perfect for me except for the carbon and the glass roof. Of course, it will be awhile before you can find a used glass roof FF.

That's why I posted what I did. I think you could wait a real long time talking yourself out of a car because it doesn't have the right wheels, no shields or callipers wrong colour etc, all these can be changed as with interior carbon, but sorry the glass roof might be a step too far, although it will be possible to change ( anything is possible) it would be silly money.

Good luck with your purchase I'm sure you will enjoy it !

Which car you looking at? I may know a thing or two from my research when I bought mine in November. PM me if you like.

Since the OP was asking about adding factory carbon to his FF (we don't offer anything as of yet), I figure this post is not really a blatant sales spam!

If you are looking into getting some factory carbon, give MAcarbon a call. We can source it for you.

The factory stuff can vary widely in finish quality. Shouldn't the part be perfect when it arrives from Ferrari? Of course! But then there is 'Reality', Italian style. So you want an experienced eye to take a look at it when it arrives. If its seriously flawed, we'd reject it. Although we've not had that happen. (We have with Porsche.) But often the parts are pretty orange peeled and pitted. So we will sand and polish as needed to make sure the part looks its best. We do charge for the extra service but considering the cost of installing most of these pieces, you don't want to put in a less than perfect part. And you do want that polishing work done by someone who knows what they are doing.

Shown is a before and after on a 458 door panel we sourced recently for a customer. In this case, the driver door was pretty bady imprinted as shown. The passenger side was much better and required maybe a quarter of the work the driver side did. At least after the work, they looked consistent!
