Sorry if its a repost but just come across this. Looks like Turkey have been allocated 2 cars for elidgable clients. BUSINESS - Two Turks picked to buy new Ferrari
The invitations are out. The USA is early (5/6 feb) The rest of Europe over the following couple of weeks. Prepare to be amazed. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder but here you will all be lost for words! Thoughts of McLaren P1s will fade into a foggy, distant memory. Except, of course, for our friend Glickenhaus who has a bone to pick it would seem!!!!
Erik, have you seen pictures of the F150? I may be mistaken but I vaguely remember reading something here saying that you had? Then again, I could be thinking of Michael (TOOL-FAN). Anyway, if you have, what are your thoughts on it? I find the following descriptions incredibly intriguing.
The F70 being a prettier Ferrari than some I own isn't something I really worry about too much. As for classic looks of course the F70 will be prettier than a P1. Around a race course however, it will be quite a different matter. Image Unavailable, Please Login
@AJ These kind of posts gives people enormous hype & they expect "unseen miracle". Problem is that every single super-car was presented like that before unveiling. And when it comes to unveiling most people`s reactions are: "Meh, I need some time to get used to it" or "When I see it in person, maybe I will like it".
Thank the Lord we only have a few days before we get to see the magic of Ferrari. After reading those two description by forum members that have seen it in person says a lot. Can't wait to finally see it.
I have seen a styling model - it may have even been so long ago that what I saw will no longer be the same as the car Ferrari will produce, but some elements do seem similar to what the prototypes portray. I'd heard Ferrari were still trying to settle the final issues on the car's styling at that point, and that internal struggles were causing delays. There were also some suggestions made here that changes were made to the tub after it was presented in Paris - I guess we'll have to see if that holds true. I didn't see enough to render a proper judgement - I don't even usually like doing so from photos as complex designs always look different to the eye in person. >8^) ER
As neither are racing cars that is not really the soul of the question. As for the ability of each constructor to deliver World Championship winning GT cars, well the story has been told Let's not forget that McLaren has not won a Constructors World title since the last century - notwithstanding Mercedes-Benz..... Nice picture! Don't see too many McLarens in it. Love the P4, ex Piper if I'm not mistaken (!!)
At last, after 5,000 posts and nearly a half million views, we are going to see the real thing. I am as excited as everyone else even though it is totally vicarious.
David owned both of them at one point. (P 3/4 and 412P). Bruce did drive the Ford (#2) at Le Mans in 67. Lets also not forget that Ferrari has not finished first overall at LeMans since 1965 and that the last Supercar to accomplish that was a Macca.
Thanks. I thought that myself about the Ford GT, but it just came out that way, I think it will look more like the F12. Not sure, just following the teaser pic. Maybe cooling opening like on FXX. Wow, tough crowd I hope the real thing is better than my sketch since I'm not a professional (car) designer. Anyway, the front won't be that far off if the teaser pic is to be believed - and it has already been commented by someone who has seen the car that the front pretty close. Thanks. I had posted something a long time ago based on the first pics of the mule. This was refined after seeing teaser pics and latest mules with radiator exit in the nose.
Certain parts of it are beautiful to me, certain things will have to grow on me. This will likely change when I drive one . For whatever its worth, Friday is much earlier than I have been told for a public debut. I don't know why Ferrari would have pushed up the date so far, but stranger things have happened.
My bet is that Ferrari is sticking with the debut at Geneva and that our fellow FChatter, Elipinski, is having his personal showing this Friday
My question is this . . . if you have seen it, is it really IDENTICAL in size to the 458? Reason I ask . . . in the cammo mule, the wheel base is much longer than the 458--using the ratio of the tires as a reference point. In addition, the engine compartment will be bigger than the 458's compartment and the proportionality one sees when one looks forward of the front windscreen is something more, too. So, I can accept the same height as the 458. I can accept the same cockpit size. What is puzzling is the length/wheelbase. It just does not seem physically possible.
Napolis . . . I recall an article that said you had a Stutz. But the car on the far left looks like a Duesenberg. Is this a Stutz and I am just mistaken?
I dont think they will show the car this friday. Private viewings will be on going all February. So my guess is that they will show one picture a few days before Geneva or just wait for Geneva.
