I am in need of the frames that fit inside the chrome vent surround. One of the cars I'm working on, these parts are rusted through. I don't see the part shown on the TAV for the doors. I have never seen them offered for sale anywhere. The vent rubber seal attaches to this frame.

Jon just made new window surrounds for my Landcruiser that was recently decommissioned
from its former state, and most of the parts for the side glass(es) was as bad as yours.
If you like, we can look into replicating them?

    Regards, Alberto

You can have it reproduced and chromed for less than that!

They do try it on, thats why i stopped using them several years ago. Surely someone in the USA could manufacture one of those for a fraction of that price

    Or in El Salvador ;)

Are the GTS different in dimensions from the GT?

    OK.

We just evaluated on a GT basis, and would definitely need sample(s) of the GTS,

if we can manufacture it properly.

    Will keep you posted.

    Regards, Alberto

Small progress report. Today we started prototyping on the GT frame I have, and it looks promising.

One channel is made, now we are planning to make a jig, so they will be repeatable.

On an aside, I think the aforementioned vendor in the UK is slightly optimistic on their pricing, possibly due to the price escalation,
so let's try to get back to reasonable.

If we can reproduce them successfully, they might, just might, be slightly less expensive ;)

    Regards, Alberto

The jig for the GT is finished and the results are very satisfactory as far as the frame is concerned.

The curvature came out perfect, as can be seen on the photo of the jig resting on top of the GT frame.
Did not drill the holes as the foremost point was to achieve the correct shape. Holes are easy.

The inner curvature of the 'U' channel, is also under control, albeit done on a scrap just for testing, so not quite the same size.

The finished product will be 100% spot on. All I need is a good source for the solid rivets, my guess, not a terrible task.

We are also exploring the availability for stainless channel, if it were a desirable option.

Glad to hear the good news Champ! Carroll is a really cool guy and helped me quite a bit with the XKE restoration even though he was freezing and without electricity during the Sandy adventure...

Anything you need Champ, please let me know. As you see with the vent frames, all is possible, well...almost.

    Regards, Alberto
