After 216 days in Afghanistan fellow F-Chatter Patrick Gray is back in GA. Welcome home Patrick, and thank you!!
Holy Smokes!!! I JUST saw this!!! Seriously - thank you all for your comments and well wishes. I have been pretty sparse here on the forums due to my re-integration and spending time with the family. I am VERY happy to be back in the US. I have been driving my little 308 everywhere - rain or shine - and it HASNT fallen apart yet!!! PDG
Posted a few of these in my thread in Silver, but thought I would repost a few of them here to share as well. PDG Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
Thanks again everyone!!! Now, for one of the finales to the whole thing in Afghanistan I present to you my adventure today. I got up and left at 6:00 this morning and drove from the Savannah area over to my daughters school in Prattville, AL. Naturally I drove the Ferrari. It is about a 330 mile one way trip - the car performed flawlessly!! Anyway, my daughter had NO idea I was coming. So, here was what happened: Daddy Surprises daughter at school after deployment to Afghanistan - YouTube PDG
Nice video! i wish the television stations would air one like this at the end of each newscast to remind us the sacrifices servicemen/women go thru to protect our freedom.
Cant imagine a better way to top off a 330 mile Ferrari trip than that! Thanks for sharing it with us and thank you for what you and your family do for me and mine!
Just to follow up again with this. The little video we made was picked up by welcomehomeblog.com who edited it down a little bit and reposted it. That copy had over 14,000 views in less than 36 hours!! Its also been reposted over on imgur.com as well. Between that and my original its well over 15,000 views!!! Its been pretty amazing to see this video of my trip take off and blow up like it has. I never really expected that at all... PDG
