Any backlash with owning a Ferrari in Boulder? - I used to live there and haven't been there in years. I know the population is highly educated, env oriented, and fairly liberal - the reason for the question.

    Any feedback would be appreciated.

    thanks

I was with my buddy in his Hummer, and we were at a stop light, the useful idiots that seem to roam the streets there while crossing the street stopped and faced us, stood there for at lease 30 seconds flipping us off. He moved off when the light turned green or my friend would have probably ran him over :)

There are a lot of Ferrari's there so maybe it was just because it was a gas guzzling hummer

When I drove the 250 PF Cab with the faded paint people loved it. Most people seemed to like the Modena too, I never got any grief with either. I had one college kid tell me the Modena was his favorite car. I gave him a ride and he loved it.

Scuderia Rampante is on the east side of Boulder. I would think people are used to seeing Ferraris running around.

Bring your fcar to Boulder! People love them.
There are mostly Audis and Subarus but the occasional Ferrari. I saw a MP4-12c this fall in town.

Since moving here last September, I've seen a lot of "exotic" sports cars in Boulder. There's a white Aston Martin Vantage that parks in my parking lot whenever the weather is nice. The day the USA Pro Challenge was in Boulder this summer, within a span of about an hour I saw a 328 GTS, a 599, and a California. I've seen the new Tesla Model S. A Maserati Gransport. A sweet late 90's/early 2000's Lotus Esprit was parked at Quiznos next to my office one day. Lots of sports cars in the area to go with all the money it takes to live in Boulder. I've driven my 328 to Target on 28th street. It's snow bound up at the house in the foothills until spring, but I won't have any qualms driving it around town (other than parking) when the snow melts.

Almost funny, ask Scuderia Rampante... Who cares what the enviros think?!? It's what you like and you're in the right spot. It's a great place to have one, because you're even closer to the great roads CO has to offer that your taxes will be paying for, come get some!

Don't do that dude seriously come on. "Rolling coal" hasn't been cool since 1999. A truck that is tuned correctly and is making HP, burns all the fuel and barely leaves a haze. Diesel performance has been hurt incredibly by those few that still think it is cool to smoke people out. Know what I mean?

I live near Boulder and have spent much time in the Ford GT and the GT40 around Boulder. I never have had a problem save one instance that I chalk up to just passing ways with an ***** having a bad day.

    Wrong.
Portland does not care. I lived there my whole life up until two years ago and never had one issue. Have you ever been to Portland? You do realize Nike, Intel, Columbia Sportswear, Adidas, Xerox, all have their headquarters there just to name a handful. FYI, the oldest Ferrari dealership in the US just so happens to reside in Portland. You could not be further from the truth.

The only places I could ever imagine may be intolerable of Fcars would be smaller, seedy towns, not large metropolitan cities such as Boulder or Denver.

The "seedy" little towns on the western slope love Ferraris.

BTW did you know the Aspen Airport is the 3rd busiest in Colorado? After Denver and Colo Spgs.

I think you missed my point. I hardly think anyone in Colorado would care.

I saw the post in the Northwest thread on it 2 days ago is why I said that. I know for a fact Nike leans very liberal and I assume the others do as well since there in a predominately "natural/save the earth" product base (talking about the sporst wear companies).

Just messing around, I promise you even straight piped (which it is) the truck won't do that without heavy tuning which the stock tranny could never hold up to. I don't even have ownership of it yet , ha! I just don't like to see people get all mad about silly little things like Global warming...not gonna happen. Of all gases diesel burns the cleanest and is so heavy that at about 200ft drops back down to earth. Just my 2 cents.

I like to kid people that you can tell the conservatives apart from the liberals in Boulder because the conservatives dont have grateful dead stickers and "save the whales" bumper stickers adorning their brand new BMW's.

Born and raised in Colorado, graduated from CU Boulder, still frequent it often. Love it, but calling it "fairly liberal" doesn't even come close. We lovingly refer to it as "The People's Republic Of..."for a reason. However I have had nothing but positive experiences there with my Ferrari.
