GTR is undeniably a beast as far as performance goes. Not sure how anyone can deny that! But these two statements above I find absolutely impossible to fathom one bit.

Different strokes for different folks as they say...

I think it gets attention just because people (mostly the "younger" crowd) know what the GTR can do. They are in love with it's insane performance. I have personally heard one guy (approx 34 years old) say, I'll take a GTR over anything...price no object! I couldn't believe it, but he said it was his favorite car of all time. And yes, he is a big time car guy.

My Ferrari gets ZERO attention from the girls! It actually seems that they intentionally look past it, and avoid looking in it's direction. I think here on Long Island they just assume that the driver is a D..K. Now the boys......that's a whole different story. It gets more attention than any other car I've owned. They give thumbs up, take camera phone photos, scream out the windows, try to race me, ask me for rides, etc. It's strange, but I kind of got used to it. It's not too bad because so far it's been all positive attention. I'm sure the GTR will get zero attention from the girls around here also. If you want the girls attention, dress nice, smile at them and give them flowers. That will impress them more than any car can. Lets face it, they don't really care about your car, and if they did, they would only care for superficial reasons.

If u want attention go streaking. If u want to go incredibly fast in a straight line on a budget, buy a GTR, if you truly enjoy the art of driving, stick with your Ferrari. Every time I drive my 430 I get butterfly's.....

Nicely said! But don't kid yourself, the GTR goes like a raped ape in the straight line AND in the turns. You don't even have to be a great driver to look like a champ, the electronics correct the mistakes most of the time!
Oh, and I thought I was the only one that gets the butterflies, or the spine tingling sensation. I think it's the sound....it's surreal!

The only non Ferrari car i would be interested is a Z06. More beautifull and as fast as a GTR.More reliable also and definately more prestigious.Lots of space for 2 people and huge trunk

What I'd like to know is, what does that guy drive. I used to think that the Porsche 928 was the best car on Earth... then I graduated school and got a job, and when I could actually afford a Ferrari, I didn't think the 928 was so great anymore.

LOL. You're bringing back memories from my time in Stony Brook! LI girls are a different breed... I realize now why I didn't date much in college, and when I did it was to upstate girls. Had a young lady do a double take just on Sunday to check out the 360.

There are lots of GTR fan boys in every forum, im not suprised. Most of them havent driven one and ofcourse not a Ferrari also. I know a guy who dreams to buy and built a 1500 hp GTR so he can beat a Veyron, lol.
I used to like GTR a lot when i first saw it but when i bought my 360 i realised that track times and numbers have nothing to do with driving satisfaction. So i dont blame them

You passed a C5 Vette, you better ! - or back to Spring Mountain for some education.

Equal drivers you would not pass a C6 Z06 w/ carbon brakes, guaranteed.
Close - but not going to happen.

Of course GTR's can corner, any body saying they cannot is talking BS.

GT3 RS, equal drivers, I think the GTR could take it on the track.

Bottom line, all these cars, GTR, GT3, Z06, 458, ZR1 etc. are pretty close on the track
    biggest difference is driver.

I regularly passed a GTR w/ slicks at the track with my C5 Z06, makes the Vette
a faster car ? Nope, he was not pushing his car as much and less experience.

Driver of the Gt3 is a novice or on a cool-down/warm-up lap or giving lessons on lines to his passenger or updating his FB status? Means nothing!

The GTR is a great car! I enjoy following them around my regular track in my (almost) stock 360 (they pull out on the striaghts but I catch them under brakes and through the corners) but when an experienced driver gets behind the wheel of mine he drives round them pretty damn quick. No doubt he'd do the reverse behind the wheel of the GTR too.

Well, last track day i attended, i passed a panamera turbo (not best track car i kno but still shouldnt have "technically") in a rental camaro ss, lapped another rental camaro ss, and the other cars, dont recall most xcept for modded Z06, no one passed me.

Im not sayin anything Negative nor derogative towards any one or their idolized vehicles so dont come at me sideways, just sayin a lot this arguuing about cornering and this, that, and a third, really is pointless.

They are all great cars, just some fulfill people where others cant or dont.

I say let's grab our pitchforks and lanterns and find the menacing scallywag who started this whole brouhaha!! :) Run Eddie! The villagers are comin'! I think you are going to need to throw another wrap on that F430 Spider to aid in your disguise.

Freshmeat...how's that red spot on your . healing up?

I'm not sure what he drives, so you definitely have a point. But it doesn't really matter if he's right or wrong. Or even if he changes his mind in the long term. I'm just talking about attention to the car. As of now, no matter which two cars are in front of him, if there is a GTR there, that's the one that he will gravitate towards. I'm sure that there are many others that feel the same way he does. I always loved the GTR, but if any "exotic" came by (even if it was way slower), my attention went to the exotic car. I guess it's about priorities for each individual.

Yes, I'm 5 minutes south of Stony Brook, so I know what you are talking about. Before I met my wife, I also dated an upstate girl, LOL. I can't say that I liked her too much either...;)
I can go down to Port Jefferson on a weekend with the car, and it will be packed down there. Either the girls completely ignore it, or the look so subtly, that the hoots and hollers of the guys drown them out. I guess it's not a bad thing. I STILL stop what I'm doing just to admire a nice car going by...even the GTR, LOL.

I'm not going to read 169 posts but this seems like a good thread! Depending on the year of the GTR would make a difference the 2012 & 2013 seem to be much quicker than the 2009 etc....

At the end of the day nothing beats a Ferrari!

Oh my god this is still going on. WTF

Of course the nissan is faster and goes round corners fast too.
It's twin turbo charged with 4wd.
Enzo once said something like, turbos are for engineers that cant build engines.
    288 & F40 excluded of course.
Turbo and 4wd the F.car and level the playing field. Academic

I had a Nissan GT-R before I had my 360. The Nissan was a much faster and much easier car to drive, Got a lot more looks than the Ferrari to but it is more like a mobile playstation than a car.

    A Ferrari is a Ferrari

The GTR is like a Casio G-Shock watch. It's good value, accurate and have all sorts of functions and performs flawlessly. A Ferrari is like a Patek Philippe watch. It's seriously expensive, not quite as accurate as a digital quartz, but the design is timeless, beautiful and every enthusiast's dream.
