I have been doing the Blockbuster 3 disc mailed at a time, that you can then take into a store and exchange for new releases. Now my local store (1 mile from my home) is closing, and I won't be able to do the in store exchanges anymore.
It takes a VERY long time for Blockbuster to mail new releases since they seem to always be checked out.

Anyone else have a solution to getting new releases pretty close to their release date?

Redbox has some of the releases immediately, some are 28 days. I usually just wait, if it was a movie I really wanted to see I went to the theater.

+1 for Redbox, you also may have a Blockbuster Express in your area. They charge more for new releases, IIRC, $3 for a new release. They tend to have less in stock while Redbox has more.

Ah yes! I forgot about them! If you have Prime it makes it even better. I used to get lots of codes from them, but haven't lately.

I just down loaded Crackle, its a free service with a catalog about the same as Netflix with a few exceptions like specialty shows & series. You have to put up the a few commercial interruptions but at least their Godzilla film section is way better than Nexflix's.
