Yeah, I think the Gov is silly, so many people are getting irritated !! And are voting apposition because they are angry, not because they believe the Man in white is not a good job overall!

Anyway, I am not an influential or powerful person! Just try and make ends meets and hopefully I can buy my exotic's :)

Actually the Coe now is not that bad, it was worse back in 96 with the similar high prices of property back then before the lights went out on the party when Asian crisis hit.

Wonder what will come in 2013 or 4

Most don't get rich being stupid. How to buy a car that is let's say $250,000 COE is $90,000, import duty is 127%. The actual cost of that car is probably $45K. The govt makes 4X the price of the car in taxes/COE. All in the name of managing the traffic population. Don't forget we get screwed everytime we pass through one of those gantry. There is no motivation to change when car related income is the no 2 tax income for govt. Unless they think that translate to votes. With the proposed population increase, if they don't change the COE system, any idiot can figure out where COE is going.

The COE goes anywhere but not ours pockets. just like the transport system, earn a billion yearly yet need to increase the fare so that they are able to rise the salary of the driver. what a joke man

Probably, that's why I don't buy new cars & stopped buying here so the Coe system works in a way to stem out poor people :p

Singaporeans are Kiasi lot that are only good at whining on Internet like dying pigs in a butcher house.

I'm not sure about you guys but there's little love for this island & instead of feeling guilty, there's no patriotism left. Just ask any male citizens about their honest opinions on NS. The ones hanging around are too poor to migrate & the wealthy use here as a safe playground but @ the sign of trouble, they'll fly like crows. So, do we love Singapore & does she loves you?

Thumbs up mate. All they probably need to do is to bump up parking prices & abolish Coe. Car population might just automatically reduce but the mrt better be as good as HK.

My niece takes the MRT to work and she is crashed everyday and have to wait for a couple of trains before she can get on. Complains of breakdowns etc. New lines only in 2030. I cannot understand why they cannot add on more cars on the MRT to reduce the wait time for a train (probably not good for SMRT bottom line) or why it takes another 17 years to built new lines. The govt has really screw up when it comes to building infrastructure to meet the influx of immigrants. Not enough new roads, trains, buses, homes etc. Now the average Joe has a beef with foreigners and i feel it's getting really ugly and i am ashamed at the way some Singaporeans behave. I am having trouble getting quality and no of staff for my business and in fact because of the labor situation, decided to close a restaurant biz. My co use to own the Sizzler franchise in Spore and i was tired of having continued labor issues. My managers urge me to creatively employ foreign staff, i refuse and am not interested to go to prison just to have enough service staff. Gave my staff a retrenchment package and they all found a new job within a week and thank me for closing down my biz. Without solving these issues first, the govt tries to sell more immigration. It's the same father knows best mentality. They have totally lost touch and i worry for Singapore.

It used to be..... until the introduction of the new generation of leaders...and the new influx of people coming in who brought their social ungrace and bad habits along..
In fact we do not attract talents..what we attract are a majority of the ones other countries do not want.. we are becoming a dumping ground for these people...

I am piss because govt policies including transport has been a big F up and the worst part is they don't seem to realize it. The PM admitted to mistakes but what are they doing about it. I like to know. A fresh uni grad gets around 3K a month. Even if he/she gets a 10% pay increase a year for the next 10 yrs. He/she will earn $7,781 10 years later. How to buy a car? Policy is only for the elite. Property price is another joke. I will not go into that.

Just had breakfast with my sis & her ex staff used to be with SMRT. The company squeezed every little dime for profit. Trains were scheduled to pack like sardine cans, he left after a couple of years because he could not work for such a company.

Guess what, I shared the same lunch table with that ex-lady boss @ a Ferrari event
