And being one of the youngest here, I worry about the inflation.. HDB, which is supposedly the cheapest of the lot costs a freakin whole 300k and up.
This is absurd given that a roof is fundamentally what we need, but the govt is letting in people who vie for these houses with us...
Million dollar hbd flat... neighbours driving porsche... holy ****..
Its sad to say but i dont think the Government is protecting the people it swore to provide for.
There are people who are still paying for their HBD loans in their old age can you believe it?!

Oui! Mp is the perfect poster boy that govt licks :D

Ahem. My old Vespa costed $7 a week on gas, $30? A year of road tax, $250 insurance & I paid $150 for the scooter from a retired policeman but spent couple of thousands restoring it over the years. Gets me to anywhere within 20mins & a magnet for young chicks ^^

I still have that! Maybe we should all go scootering :D

Wow. I didn't even work out those figures, can we see you on TV in 2016? Fchat bros will cross for you :)

Oh didn't know you're into F&B too. I'm no longer interested to start any business in Singapore due to start up costs & staffing issues. We can trial & error in the "neighborhood" for fun but a failure here will run into 6 figures minimum. A friend started a gaming centre in KL for Rm100k, he has two shops now & then started a Taiwanese dessert store which spawned into a franchise. He's only early 30s with no knowledge about cooking & probably a private college grad.

Take home salary is a huge disparity there though. Majority make do with <Rm1000 while average in city is probably Rm2000+/- but cars are as cheap as Rm45k for a new local make & housing reasonably affordable. On the opposite end. The wealthy ones live like Princes that make us look like beggars.

Hahaha vespa oozes old school charm aye...
Prolly the only way to go now that COE is insane...

F&B is a lucrative business...have you read about the thai express franchise being sold for 80mill(i think)..?

Its not easy to start up a business anymore.
Before earning money you already have to go through tons on certifications and testings through the authorized governement agencies, in case of food poisoning bla bla bla.. which will incur a large debt..
On top of that after you earn money, the govt also wants a slice of your cake in the name of taxes cpf etc etc...

Came back the other day at 3pm & AYE to city was jammed to a halt near NUS. 3pm. But guess its a problem in any major city. Bangkok, Jakarta, KL are worse off & London....my God. Paris , Rome & Milan weren't that bad even @ peak hours

Well at least they find work here. Some countries have to deal with refugees, not a sexy idea.

Do you know who he married? ;) the dad in law is rather famous even though he wanted no help but having a quarter million to start up is not possible for many 20 something's here.

Dude, our tax is friendly compared to other nations but not as good as HK. Only thing is our govt has a hand in anything that profits :) they are very enterprising.

There's more official red tapes to start up in Malaysia, you'll be surprised how many departments you must apply & how they don't work together while politics will also kill your business but of course $ greases pockets should you see a future.

Ivan is a good friend of mine and very down to earth, and the media portrayed him quite funny in his interviews,

Tommie Goh who started from Humble beginnings supports his external family members and if you know him personally, you would respect him for his values .

We use to skate board together as kids :)
