Thank you for the info. Yes, the letter clearly states that Thepenier was the exclusive importer in France. The letter is dated March 5 1976, so clearly applies to the Merak/Bora period.
Thanks to Mark and his wonderful event "Khamsin Quaranta", I found traces of 3 French Khamsin : I took some photos with my I-phone #016: the first one to have been imported by Thépenier # 160 : restored by a passionate swiss guy, who wrote a book about his hard work #180 some pictures of the day at Chateau de Gilly were Mark kindly invited me. http://www.thepenier-maserati-register.com/crbst_211.html

I would like to know if anyone knows what happened to that car: VIN N° :122A.4010 Delivery date: 03/09/1980 Colour: Blue Sera / Grigio Options : 1980 Paris Motorshow I used to own the 76 Paris show car that I got after seeing the 80 show car. The 80 show car was gorgeous, very nice colors. I still have a picture of it somewhere I took at the show. The interior actually looked white not really grey if I recall correctly. What happened to the mechanic from 1982 who got in with me to try the car at Thepenier when I bought the car: VIN N° :122A.1536 Delivery date: 31/10/1976 First Owner: Docteur BRENIER (Xmas gift to his GFriend) Colour: Blue Metalizzato / Senape Information: 1976 Paris Motorshow ? I recall he was a very nice chap, deep into cars.
If you have any photos do not hesitate to send them to me for the site. By the way, # 112A.1536 was delivered from Italy with 2 other Maserati and 3 Lamborghini : Countach 1120218, Urraco 20410, Espada 9804.
Cool to know that my car got delivered with a 400 that has been in the US. If you have more info on 11202218 or picts, please dont hold back. Ok. then here is my contribution. I have a picture at the show of the 1980 Paris show car I loved so much. I was in college in my 20s. Sorry for the quality but this was developed on Feb 1980 then I have a few picts of my former car, the 76 Merak SS Paris show car. I took the picture in my town in France with the Bora of another chap from my town. Despite being a small country side town, having only 20K people, we had quite a few exotics there, 308GTS, Merak, Bora, SMs, Espada, Lotus Esprit. I dont count Porsches. I must have a pict of the 76 Merak when I picked it up at Thepenier but I cant find it. The car was Brown metal when I got it as this color was the rage in the late 70s. I repainted it black. To me, brown is something else color.. I am trying to find someone who can post the pict on my behalf on this thread. For whatever reason I am unable to do this.
