    Hi Patrick,

That car (VIN 13622) was recently sold by Rardley Motors for the 2nd time in 2 years. I’m sorry to have to tell you but that’s not an original GT4 colour, although it is similar to a Ferrari shade. It’s not metallic either so wouldn’t be Rubino anyway. The original colour was Verde Medio.

1st colour from me to cross off the list:-

    Verde Pino Metallizzato

Rosso Dino - poor quality but the only GT4 one I've ever been able to have. I had some great 246GT ones but I deleted them accidentally. They showed the colour changing from orange to pink depending on the light/angle

    Hi Wazza T,

It is too dark to be Blu Montecarlo and Blu Sera is metallic. Your car is only the 2nd one I’ve seen in that shade, the fact you can vouch for it being factory paint and a solid (non-metallic) colour confirms to me the one I have already is Blu Scurro Dino, as I previously suspected. Here’s mine:-

This next car I had marked as Oro Chiaro Metallizzato, but I’ve always had my doubts. It was Japan based and comparing it to other O C M pictures, it is the wrong shade. I now think of it as Rose Gold or Pink Gold, as you would associate with jewellery. Anyone have any thoughts?

    Hi alhbln,

You need to add Viola Metallizzato to our wish list, I knew it was a factory colour but had never seen one until I found this thread earlier:-

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/308-328/152245-horrible-color.html

    Hi Hans,

I was trying to find out the colour of your blue GT4 and I came across this picture in your respray album where you say it was not going back to the original Sand colour!!! Which colour was the original topcoat as there must be primer & undercoat on the metal first?

If original paint, it looks a lot like "Bruno Acajou" -at the one on smaller pic.
Faded pictures makes it hard to say though.

Although I cannot find the information any more on the Ferrari site, I swear I saw information that my car (10128) was originally Pino Verde. I have found touches of green overspray when working on the engine compartment clean up.

I like the idea of forest green with the original tan cloth inserts. She's red now, which is lovely, but I if I replayed I'd be tempted to go back. So two questions:
1.) Any way to verify the original color from Ferrari?
2.) Any pictures of Pino Verde?

    Hi hoverland,

Thanks for the reply, you could be right, looking at the 400 on the page below. What would we do without such forums, where people can share their knowledge, which at times is amazing!!

    http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/365-gt4-2-2-400-412/310857-how-about-some-pictures-our-365-400-412s-4.html#post140322408

By a strange coincidence, the Daytona below the 400 looks the same as my dark O C M, so is the GT4 picture I posted Nocciola?

    Hi greggbferrari,

I know people have different tastes, but unless it is really bad I would always go back to original colour, especially if it's a rare one. I've got Verde Pino pictures on page 4 of this thread.

Carl, thanks for the effort to post all the colors! Now only Giallo Dino ('white yellow') and Giallo Senape ('mustard') are missing from the factory options, i guess these are quite rare. I haven't listed Viola Metallizzato as it was not a standard option for the 308 GT4, but you could order it as factory option from the previous Dino 246 GT standard color options.

Below is another photo of a Rosso Dino GT4 which shows the orange tint a bit better.

    Hi Adrian,

Thanks for the reply & photo (which is now in my collection!). I note what you say about Viola and I guess the same goes for the other colours I posted which weren't on your list.

The scenario you describe sounds the same as Porsche in the late 60's & 70's with colours. They had standard colours in solid & metallic and then special order colours in solid & metallic and finally "match to sample". In effect, 5 ranges of colours to choose from!!!!

A gentle bump so the thread doesn't fall out of the section. Should it be a sticky?
