Uno, have a look on VLG. We discussed it at length and there's a link with pictures too. I don't remember off hand the product number. It's a Henkle Loctite product. The amount of color comes from how long you leave it in the mixture.

Funny you say that. I've been thinking of changing it because most people don't seem to get it! Maybe it's only obvious if you're a car guy? Not sure what I would use instead (?).
Don't have any with chrome spinners, but there are pictures in the large Miura thread with one with chrome air cleaners, and other chrome bits that is claimed to be original. I'm skeptical, but don't have proof either way.
In the US a very popular sandwich is the Bacon, Lettuce and Tomato, or BLT. My plate says 9TH BLT, which is supposed to mean "ninth built", but some don't ready it or get confused with the Bacon, lettuce, tomato reference.

Maybe "No 9" ? Of course, that might make people think Chanel... Who knew owning a Miura would entail such dilemmas? On a serious note: thank you for sharing the restoration with us.
As everyone may recall Alberto's Miura got a rust converter bath then cooked in the spray booth. Followed by a first stage of seam sealing. Then we coated the complete chassis and cockpit with two thin coats of a DTM (direct to metal) urethane primer. Now we can see everything a lot better and make the appropriate repairs as needed while keeping originality in mind. We went into a second seam sealing process. Having every thing a light gray allowed us to see all the pin holes because they showed up very distinctively. Even though most (all) of the factory welds were oxygen and acetylene (gas welding) this second seam sealing job fills all the pin holes up, which will keep as much moisture out as possible. This was also a great time to repair and replace missing wire and hose clamps welded on the body. All the factory welds are structurally sound, this second seam sealing makes most welds a lot better looking while keeping the character of the way these cars were built. You will see by the photos what I am referring to. The last step in this process is to sand all the primmer and then re-primmer the complete chassis for the second and final time before painting the chassis black, which will happen after the car is painted. After this very important segment we will be able to start surfacing the roof, doors, and rear chassis quarter panels... the small section behind the doors. I can't wait to start! The welding on these older cars (although I have seen and been amazed by it before) always makes me wonder if training to be a welder was a part of the job description. And was any quality control used in the parts most customers would not see? As a younger man I would see the same on motorcycles coming from Japan.
