Funny you speak off this story, seems to be their favorite trick, I had the same experience with Valentino in Diablo GT! same S bend, I had again same experience in Merci SV with Cosimo.. Now the road doen there is changing so the S bend will soon be gone! Road works were going on when I was there late September 2012

I was chatting with Cosimo when your car was there for the huge service, that time my car had problems with overheating.

Cosimo, is a very dear friend for many many years.. He has been there for 30 plus years although he did leave to become test development driver on the 110SS with Loris. Before going back to Lamborghini. Tommassini is another who runs the service assistance department.

Oh wow, thank you for the trip down memory lane, I don't know any of these guys on a personal basis like you do, but I certainly know who they are!

I know Cosimo as "Mimmo", heard a bit about Claudio, and a lot about Loris!

He has a driving academy these days I think (as does or did Sandro), and here below are a few shots of Loris in from the old days, the colored one from when he "strayed" to Bugatti for a period.

Given that the 25th Anniversario was styled by Horacio Pagani, I don't think I'd be going too far off topic to mention that these days Loris still collaborates with Pagani doing some "work" for him :)

You never know what's going to come up in this thread.

Cesare, Sandro, Loris, Mimmo, Claudio have all had input into the 25th, and lets add this man too

Great story of one man's passion for cars and his desire to enjoy them close-up daily.

I posted it a while ago http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/142033073-post429.html but its always worth a review.

You can see the Countach featured in the design drawings below

Yes, many know him only as Mimmo, Claudio did lots of work on the VT diablo and in fact it was Claudio who at the 30TH drove the SE out of the Cake..

The pictures I believe of Lris from his site, the picture of him with pretty blue LM the person on his right is Mimmo. They are very close friends. Along with all the others and many more its such a small circle.

When Loris left for the Veyron project, he was replace with Davide Testi who was schooled at Ferrari. Roberta , Loris's sister has also left Pagani now. he may still have had a little in put as they are also very close friends.

Work is still going on today (or not, actually). The S still is there to encounter, for now. They have signs reading '30' (km/h) up there.... Done it a couple of times in my own car, the last days :) (at 50 km/h)

What is scary is that these are cars capable of 185 mph and the roads in the area are relatively small and sometimes go through populated areas which provide little to no run-off in case of error.

Even scarier are all the big trucks using those roads!

And the 25th he was testing, a customer's car registered in Naples (NA), parked at a roadside cafe for a break, wheels dirty from brake dust and rear end showing evidence of much high-speed driving

Perhaps one day you can ask any of them if they know what happened to the 1987 Countach Evoluzione?

Looking at it, I see the 25th's front end

I was going through some old photos with the owner of a very well know local carrozzeria that has many years association with lamborghini. with some very interesting photos of the Countach evoluzione parked at he workshop. Now I am not sure it was just test driver out pounding the roads stopping of for a coffee, to see some customer cars or it was there for work. My Italian at that time was not the best and his English was poor.

It would be interesting to find out more of what happened to this car.
    Crash tested is first guess.
As many a time I have been down in the underground parking by the fuel refill in the Factory over the years looking at all the unusual odd creations, in various states lurking down there.

think thats the in car phone keypad. You can just see the dash mounted phone. i could live with the door speakers, but if this was my car, would strip out the phone and keypad and return it to more orig spec.

Walter Wolf told me that he had this problem on his LP400 and he proposed the solution pictured below. The two "winglets" attached to the sweeping section of the wiper do the job effectively. The bottom pic shows the second winglet too. These are original equipment for the later LP400, all LP400S S1, and most LP400S S2.

I don't know why they discontinued them! Unfortunately many of the cars that had these fitted as original equipment have had them deleted.

    A rare-to-see application these days.

The suggestion that the brakes are exactly the ones on the LP400S made at the beginning of he thread is an interesting one, and more on that soon.

Meanwhile, the bottom image is from 1990, and that's Graziella Diana Ferrero on the brakes in the wet. Riding shotgun that day was Sandro Munari.
