Very impressed with my test drive of the 2013 911 Carrera S PDK w/ PDDC -- this car fortunately had the steering wheel with paddles and this made it much more pleasant. Have owned 996 / 997 / boxster and have to tell you this car "felt" right. It feels almost as comfortable as my Panamera S, but has a bad ass personality. Impressed with the sound of the car (even without) sport exhaust option; very welcome to the line. The base Carrera however, did not like one bit, very low torque -- felt sluggish to me. Should be adding this one to the garage soon.

    i love my 991 911s cab.
i agree, the new pdk is the way to go.
i have had three 3 pedal 911's in the past.
i prefer the new pdk to the first generation pdk.
i ordered my 911 with the stock exhaust and later upgraded to the tubi.
my brother in law got the same car with the factory sport exhaust.
    i prefer the tubi.

I have driven 13k+ miles in my 991S w/7mt since June 2012 and love it. I got the sports exhaust, PASM, chrono, everything. I test drove a PDK 991s too, buy went with the 7mt for the driving experience. PDK is great for a race or track, but for a fun DD, nothing beats a 3 pedal manual IMHO.

Definitely agree -- gonna try out the 7 speed manual prior to purchasing, although very difficult to come across... I used to have a 997 Carrera S with 6 speed and it was great as a daily driver.

Went with 2013 Carrera cabrio black / tan interior with 7 speed; thought I would like the coupe better but the cabrio blew me away, very cool. Picking her up on Friday.

I have a Coupe, but I have to say that the Cabrio in the 991 really looks magnificent with the Top Up or Down.

I picked up the new 911 yesterday; all I can say is wow! Didn't appreciate how much I have missed the 911 sound and feel. I have been in a Boxster for the last 2 years, which although was a good car, there is no comparison. This is my 3rd 911 (996, 997 previously) and have to say that that it feels amazing. Very comfortable seats with the right amount of support, the manual transmission is the best I have driven, the interior is gorgeous and functional, the top mechanism is superb... Very cool car. For all those journalists that have been giving the 991 bad reviews -- ignore... I really disagree with the criticisms about the new electrical steering -- it feels great! The only thing I agree with is the power steering plus that one car I test drove had; very unnecessary, felt like the steering was overly assisted at low speeds, like a Buick :) You folks have a great weekend and drive your cars.

Nice to hear the positive reviews, especially regarding the steering. I can't wait to see the new 991TT. I have a 993TT, but the 991 has really captured my attention.

Agree with the 991TT, it's going to be special. That's why I only got a 2 year lease on this one :)

I have owned Porsche since 2003 and up until last June had a perfectly wonderful '10 911 manual transmission. I made the mistake of going into Sunset Porsche last June to pick something up and idly gazing at the '12 911 991 S with PDK they had in the showroom. The salesman (Gregg) had sold me my '10 and encouraged me to give it a test drive ...

He had my money before we rounded the first turn.

The 991 S is, in my humble opinion, the ultimate "daily driver" for anyone wishing to own Porsche. The PDK is incredible, and the car is nearly perfect from top-to-bottom, from the engine to the technology integration. I went from driving my '10 911 from time to time, as weather permitted, to planning entire trips around driving the 991 --- including taking it to Sunriver for weeks at a time in the summer to race the Cascade Lakes Highway.

If you are at all inclined to buy a Porsche (odd to say on FerrariChat) you will never regret the 991 S. Guaranteed.

Pictures of mine at Smith Rocks attached.

Great Choice But you might want to consider adding the power pack.Especially since you are
spending the money on PDDC your not that far a away from a power pack in cost differential
