I have my car insured for a bit less than I paid for it. That's because at the time that was the max available.

Dinos have eased up a bit in value, but it seemed the insurance values have lagged.

For instance, the Hagerty site shows Dino's to be very much lower than current market, here:

Collector Car Insurance - Get a quote

Anyone else with this problem? Thanks.

***i have insurance with American Collector and the max "stated value" they will agree to is $150k on my 72 GT.

    Try another company or two.

you may have to get the car appraised in order to justify the value.

So you know, I had it insured all those years ago for about what you paid me for it.

Helps if you can show awards, comps, etc.

So, wadda ya pay for your $30K Toyota? $600/year maybe?

Do the math, bro. You Dino guys are in the fast lane now, cars over a quarter million ain't cheap to insure.

I'm guessing that you'd pay 5 times that if State Farm would touch it with a ten foot pole.

But yes, $1700+ is a pretty steep. Almost as much as four tires cost. :D

"Stated Value" is not the same as "Agreed Value". If you total your car and you want $185K for it with a Stated Value policy, you'll need to hope the insurance company agrees with you after your claim.

Looked at policy, it states "$185,000 Agreed Value less $250 Deductible"

You guys are spoiled. I pay $1850 for my 09 Acadia!!

All of our wrecks are with Hagerty under the "silver wheels" plan. The Dino value is set at $200,000 and my premium is $450/yr. limited use mind you but affordable

Strange the Silver Wheels program is only available in Canada and is much cheaper than Hagerty coverage here in the States.

What are the general coverage terms under Hagerty's Silver Wheels coverage program in Canada with respect to annual mileage (what the heck do they call "mileage" in Canada??? - "kilomage"?), type of usage, where it is usually parked, etc., etc.?

    Thanks,
    Mark

It's been awhile since I have looked at the policy and its restrictions. I will have a look and report back.

I do know that they don't allow drivers under 24
