That's a very old render and not really close.

Anyways, I have been informed that the second version will be launched within a year of Geneva if they stay with their projected plans and enough clients step up to support this effort. For those wondering about the F150's wing, yes it is smaller than the P1's but it is very clever. This car does what the Enzo did, it breaks new ground for Ferrari in a VERY positive way.

Will Ferrari release any info on this second version at laucnh, or will it be kept secret for another year, cause if so, *I'm tempted to find where you live and hunt you down :)

*In case it wasn't obvious I was joking.

So it's going racing then - as distinct from a XX version (which no doubt could turn up further in the future too)??

I don't think they will release anything at the F150's launch, but I'm hopeful. I know there is NOT a finished second version, so they will not be showing that car, but Luca may discuss further plans. I was told that after the launch I can talk more about what Ferrari wants/wanted to get done with the F150. A couple people here on FCHAT know some of my sources and they are just as excited to get new details. Knowing what I know about the project(s) I think I'm more anxious than anyone to learn new information. No worries, I know you're kidding :).

It won't race as I doubt Ferrari wants to take on the Nurb.....

So this second version is an F150 Scud then?

The pictures does not reveal an actual date and I'm quite sure that the event has already taken place. :)

Quoting from the end of that blog:

"The answer to the question “Will we see a F150 on Indian roads?” will soon be answered it seems!"

The easy answer is no as the F150 won't be produced in RHD which is mandated there. Neither will the P1 or 918.

They used to send people to the Grand Hotel Majestic in Bologna.....Milan is quite a drive to Maranello although I am sure people won't complain if they are going to see the F150 ;-)

Not true. Our race ride height at the Ring is higher than Ferrari P 4/5 by Pininfarina's road ride height. P 4/5 C has both front and rear lifters to enable it to get in and out of steep driveways and over speed bumps and in some photos the ride height was in the up position. Like the lifter in the Enzo you can't drive in that posistion over 15mph. I think P1 has lifters as well.

As an aside since we did our 6:51 we've made a lot of changes. P 4/5 C weighs less, has more HP, higher KERS output for longer duration and even on road legal tires would be faster than 6:51 on the NS. The tires we ran 6:51 were hard compound as under the rules they had to stay on the car for both qualifying runs, the start and a full stint.

Yup with Nurb being a road course I would imagine any serious downforce must come from top surface aero rather than ground effects.

With the P1's huge rear wing, won't that present front lift/front traction problems?

So on soft compounds you reckon you'll get below 6:40? Wow you are getting awfully close to my Audi R8 lap time.......on PS3

Just a thought, I'm guessing the rear wheels will be partly uncovered in their rear, lower external area, a bit like in the 458 GT3. I'm completely unable to draw what I have in mind, though.

In addition to the active rear wing, the McLaren P1’s aerodynamic performance is optimised using two flaps mounted under the body ahead of the front wheels. These are also actively controlled, and change angle automatically through a range of 0-60 degrees, to optimise performance, boosting downforce and aero efficiency, increasing both speed and driver confidence.

The rear wing and front flaps work together to maintain the perfect balance of the vehicle.
