I'm guessing But some of the Milanno works over the released rear pic, some of the cleared-up imagery on those pics, the 458 GT3 itself along with the 333 SP, the Zonda R, people who have seen it talking things like revolutionary shape and aero treatment... all those things have inspired my guess. But it is just a guess and actually a pretty vague one
Yup. Just wondering how much downforce can they dial on that huge rear wing without creating traction loss at the front which as you say has its own active flaps but which are relatively small. In F1 cars, you have a large front wing to counterbalance the moment produced by the rear wing downforce.
This is my first post sinds years ago. I only want to say is this: I hope that the F70 will be as great as cars like the Bugatti Veyron, Koenigsegg Agera, SSC Ultimate Aero (part 2) and even more like that kind of superhypercars. One last thing: Alonso F1 champ this year?? My vote: HELL YEAH
Says you. I'm sure someone thinks it looks good. (Not me though, that thing needs to be killed with fire). Point is, beauty is relative.
Only a blind man can say that "thing" looks good. Same goes 4 the P1. It doesn't matter how fast it is, it's so damn UGLY.
+1 on p1 being ugly with bad proportions. Guys is the circled area the final body? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Everything you are saying is an opinion. It is subjective. How do you quantify a car that has "soul"? You can't. Technical advancements and lap times are objective and measurable. My car beats your car by X number of seconds around said track. You can't argue with that. You can't market soul, but you can market lap times and technical features. Also, you say: I hope you realize that you are talking about 2 cars that HAVE NOT EVEN BEEN BUILT YET. Only time will tell which car will be an icon. Hell, BOTH cars (or even all 3 if you include the Porsche) might be regarded as icons in the future.
Why not? All they have to do is sell more than 70 road cars and they will have surpassed their success with the F1.
Opinions are like butt holes. Everyone has one but unlike laptimes which are fact opinions aren't fact. Personally I'm more interested in some people's than others. Evo 098, Gordon Murray: "How many of our today's cars will be considered classics in, say, 20 or 30 years' time? One that will be is the brand-new Pininfarina-designed one-off Ferrari P4/5 supercar, based on a Ferrari Enzo. All supercars have presence and a certain "dramatic" look, but not all of them have style. The Enzo is certainly dramatic, but it manages to look very large (it is!) and very disjointed - the lines just don't flow. Panel shut gaps are too big and obvious, the front overhang is just too long, and the whole effect is styling rather than style. Enter the P4/5 - a truly beautiful, balanced shape. I'm sure Pininfarina will have the "retro" finger pointed at them, but while there's no mistaking its heritage, the style is crisp, fresh and bang up to date. This is not a sycophantic exercise like the Ford GT but very much a new design in its own right. If I was offered the keys to either the Enzo or the P4/5, I know which one I would be driving home." The fact remains that McLaren told me they set out to build a Race Car for the Road and this 1:45, if true proves that they have.
What is P4/5's floor height compared to a regular Enzo? What is P4/5C's floor height compared to a regular 430 Scud?
No offence , Mr Glieckenhaus, you have a very good looking car, but it's nowhere near as good looking as the Enzo. Your P 4/5 has just one advantage over the Enzo : weight. Nothing else. The Enzo is the best looking car of all time along with the F50.
?? What is floor height? The height of P 4/5 C (ride height) as raced at the Ring from the ground to the floor is higher than the Height of Road P 4/5. Neither are particularly low about 4.5 to 5 inches.
I think you forgot to write "as my own opinion": i do not share at all your opinion, but you can have your one, of course.
Lets get a show of hands on how many of us don't give a crap about how fast the P1 or f70 go around "the 'Ring". If it goes like stink and is butt ugly, let it stay on the track. To me a car for the street needs to be more than a machine. It must also be art. Go run a 275gtb around the track 5 minutes slower and tell me which one I like better. Hint: It won't be the one made in a hermetically sealed clean room
There are definetly those who care how fast a car can go around a track and there are definetly some who don't. When Ferrari went for a Ring Record I think it's fair to say they though some Ferrari Owners/Fans care. There are those who buy FF's. Personally I doubt it's because they think they're art but I understand that they might think that they are.
I guess my point is that whether Ferrari or McLaren have a bigger dyck on the track really doesn't matter a whole lot. Sure we want them fast. But we also don't mind a little sacrifice for the artistic side. I think this is what made Bugatti such a legend in the 30's. Yes there was mechanical mastery there but there was also style and beauty. On a car that will spend most of its like on a road and not a track, I can live with a little less speed and a little more good looks.
We? You and possibly others but why should any one care what you, me or anyone thinks about what cars they buy/covet? You have an opinion as do the guys buying P1's. I'm a very big believer in making yourself happy. I also realise just how lucky those of us above ground are and how wonderful it is to be able to drive down a road or around a track in a car you love no matter what it is or how humble it may be.
I remember when the enzo came out. Its looks weren't as widely accepted as the P1 but most still love it because of how fast it is and how it sounds. The interior isn't "prittied" up either. Just what you really need. And they still love it. So... i think that the Wendi is your personal favorite and that's fine. Let's just let the world decide when they actually fully see daylight
Speed and beauty need not be mutually exclusive. Speed and comfort might be, but I don't see why one can't win both the race and the beauty contest.
