It must be a scoop as the airbox intake in f150 is further back than in Enzo's and must result in a separate intake from radiators IMO

You're right. That was very close to what we think now. Amazingly so.

I can't see that here: Ferrari. But if you look in Sammy Wasem's page Sammy Wasem. So it's not on Ferrari's FB.

I've seen it through Ferrari's FB, they are sharing Sammy Wasem's picture which sports the mentioned caption. We've talked before about this guy managing Ferrari's official page... it is difficult to assure whether all that is shared should be taken as official.

In my opinion the F150 will be unveiled at Geneva...without wallpaper previews because Ferrari wants rediscover the pleasure to view a new car, maybe the most important car for these years, with a surprise....A true World Premiere...

I've went back and fourth with him Sam (Wasem) a few times, cause I was interested in his affiliation with Ferrari and, just as you mentioned, how official it really is? He assured me that him and his father handle it (always have) and everything comes STRAIGHT from Ferrari, to the point that he mentioned Ferrari wanting to take it over. Being that him and his father have built the site to over 10 Million fans/likes, he wasn't really happy about Ferrari wanting to take it from them. I highly doubt he would say ANYTHING like that, if it wasn't true. If he made comments like this one, that were false, I doubt he would be "handling" Ferrari's site for much longer, then again, I guess only time will tell...SIMPLY my OPINION, don't want to start anything, being so many people are so "touchy" on here as of late...

I don't see the 10 million likes as an achievement of the page manager, more like just the name Ferrari attracts all those fans. Anyway let's hope we will see something new this coming week.

I actually have this image of some rich, fat Italian guy pointing at FB and saying, "Look at this--all these people liking something just because it says Ferrari!!"

Just like the rest of their alternative product marketing, if you ask me. Slap the F-word on it and watch people flock.

I think you guys are really good. I want to share an idea with you.

Ferrari did well and surprised many with the creative use of what might have been dead space on the F12 front fender. They have been increasingly creative with the use of space and air. They also have been using more than one heat disapator.

Consider for a minute what a radiator is to do, not what it is. It is meant to reduce heat, radiating it away. The enemies to the cars performance when this is pursued are weight and drag.

They are becoming finer things. Their material, shape, number, size, location, etc. are all different than the "one up front". Thus we are seeing evolutionary development.

Now imagine for a moment that they are dumb as a brick. Imagine that there is a more integrated, more efficient, slicker alternative. To say that there is no such thing is most likely folly. So what is it? Think of the whole system. Look for sinks as well as radiating surfaces.

I had theorized an air racer with a radiating body. Please before anyone decries this and states the multiple problems, realize that it is not impossible for some. For some it is.

I think we are going to see active aero and radiation. Possibly something along the lines of the Murcie. I will hope for more though. I hope Ferrari is out of the box again.

Thank you for your kind attention. I'm looking forward to the new car. It should be an absolute dream on the open roads. :)

Five will get you ten that's a ducted radiator on the flank.

There have been ducted flank radiators on cars for years. Ford used radiated heat energy to increase braking efficiency at Le Mans in 67 as the long straight was overcooling the brakes for the 25 MPH hairpin at the end of the straight. F1 cars and a few Sports cars use
radiated heat energy for aero already. In 2006 we used it on P 4/5 to reduce wake turbulence. It can trim drag and produce downforce. The amount of radiator inlet that is needed to cool a modern car is much less than in the past. The key is inlet vs exit. When we put our Enzo into a wind tunnel we learned that there was too much inlet vs exit. We made design changes and I'm sure Ferrari has balanced this much better in the F70 than they did in the Enzo.

It wouldn't be too bad if the inlets were active and under the car. Guess too much of it could become dangerous on bumpy roads though.

Something I don't understand why does not get implemented are fan shaped wheels. They were banned in F1 but they have rarely resurfaced on road cars. A few exceptions are the mcmercedes slr and the tesla s, although on the tesla, being asymmetric, they work blowing on one side but sucking on the other (weird for a company founded by a physics graduate).

This would cool the brakes, create ground effect and help engine cooling possibly.

I think the reason might be all the air getting pushed out of the wheels would ruin CD values.

I do know that one manufacturer (Audi I think) made aero wheels that did the opposite, sucked air in. The reason was to rid the wheels of brake dust.
