One of my old stomping grounds from bike & uni days.. pretty unfriendly place for any "lose".. looks damp there which only makes it worse to be trying too hard.
Hehe, your's and mine both,Alex. I lived in Wahroonga at the time and strewth didn't we give that track some whacky!! I reckon I learn't more about a cars' dynamic's on that road than anywhere else, held me in good stead for the 5 Targa Tassies!
It was a great road for that.. pretty deserted mainly and not much chance getting in anyone's way typically.. My favourite run was usually a mid-week jaunt meeting at Hornsby at 6am and going to Peat's Ridge and back in time for 9am lectures.. arrived with leather and oily smell amongst all the squeaky clean people with notepads out lol.. great start to the day.. felt so alive after it! Sometimes my mates would be on GSXR1100's and I'd be on the 450 Desmo.. they'd kill me on the straights and I'd be all over them on the corners.. very mixed performance envelopes and you'd all have to be on your toes not to get any tragic mixups. Not sure what'd it be like these days.. haven't been back for ages as it has an insane low speed limit couldn't keep to that on 2 wheels.. hope it doesn't become like Victoria with radar operators in camo gear stuck up on a ridge radioing your details ahead.
I asked what it was like on a different thread quite some time back, the reply was it's upter both in road quality and speed limits. Back in my day(geez don't I sound old....oh hang on,I am)the freeway was new and so the only traffic you'd find on the old road was local, and those going to Old Sydney town tourist thingy.
